OLD HOTEL GOES OFFICE MODERN!

Forty million dollars in renovation and a

sound idea have turned an old hotel into an
ultra modern office complex with complete
business services.

There are fifteen floors in the building with

eighteen units on each floor. The first floor is
filled with retail shops; the second and sixth
floors are residential "live and work" floors where
people have two adjacent spaces, one for living
and one for working. The seventh floor contains
the Celebrity Business Club; floors eight through
fifteen contain units for commercial office use.
The Celebrity Business Club is designed to
support traveling business persons, with an array
of services, including office space, conference
rooms, telecommunication services, mail and
telephone answering and secretarial support.

An inherent requirement of the building renewal

was the need to give the former hotel a fresh
modern appearance and to forestall any 'cluttered
window' appearance that so often characterizes
an office building. Energy conservation and office
productivity were also important factors in the
renovation.

The building management called upon the

services of an area solar control specialist,
a LLumar® window film dealer, who after
conducting a construction survey recommended
the installation of LLumar® R20 film on the
entire building.
 The attributes of LLumar® R20, a reflective
film, are ideal for meeting the aesthetic and
environmental specifications. When professionally
installed the building's architecture was enhanced
with a clean sharp modern facade. No interior
view can disturb the uniform look of the building
for the film blocks 82% of visible light from
penetrating the glass. Furthermore the sun's
glare will not interfere with computer-screen
viewing or the work surroundings through general
discomfort. LLumar® R20 reduces glare by 69%.
The window film provides comfort in the lobby
as well, where business owners meet guests and
residents congregate.

In Atlanta where summer temperatures can reach

100ºF, reducing air conditioning costs is a
constant challenge calling for persistent vigilance.
Solar control window film reduces the amount
of the sun's heat that enters a building through
