Thinking back when I was Instructional Assistant for the very first time and up to now. Every teacher
had their classroom arranged different. The first classroom I was in the teacher set the classroom in a
perpendiculars runaway style. The pros of this are the students are split into two rows groups. It is good
for debates that can take place or can have differentiate content between groups. The cons are students
would have turn towards the front to see the blackboard. The mobility can be difficult for students
wanting to get in and out of their spot. The students at the far end of the row will find it hard to hear the
other person at the other far end of the row. With the way the classroom was setup the students did
more interacting by socializing instead of listening to the teacher or doing their classwork. The student
did not behave well in the classroom. The second classroom I work in the teacher had the classroom set
up like “The Stadium” style this style is where the student is slightly turned in the classroom facing the
teacher and pair four student in row. The pro for this type of sitting in the classroom the teacher has
control over the classroom. The students have good view of seeing the blackboard or whiteboard. The
behavior the students exhibit was they like to engage in the classroom assignments and it was less social
interaction because the teacher was able to see all the students. The last classroom arrangement was
“exam style” or “Row and Column’’ this was the way I had when I was in school. Every student sitting
behind each other with space in between. This style the teacher more control over the students. The
pros distractions are minimized, students are unlikely to cheat off each other, the teacher has a stronger
control over the classroom, and students work independently. The cons of this style there are no
interact with each other or learn from their peers, learning only takes place and the students might
resent the teacher. With the row and column sitting I have seen where the students were well behaved
in the classroom because there was no talking to one other. They engage in listening to the teacher and
