Statement of Purpose

Exploring the engineering aspects of the industrial process, I picked up the flair for managerial aspects

involved in it. Naturally, being an outgoing person, having effective communication with people, and

working on influential roles to guide the team is my innate forte. My short tenure as a fitness coach was

the first significant event that led me to understand the strength of my intellectual ability, where I

practiced my managerial ability and organizational skills. I was able to be the director and aided the

members to get their tasks accomplished satisfactorily without any disputes or misunderstandings in the

process. Aspiring to explore the management stream of industrial process and manufacturing, and to

widen my acumen in the field of my passion with the strong technical skills and practical experience I

have acquired through a collective stint, I have opted to pursue my Master's degree in Engineering

Management from Stevens Institute of Technology.

Growing up I had a curiosity for exploration and innovation, which led me to discover the domain of

machinery. Inspired by the process of its working, manufacturing, and application, I pursued my

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from RNS Institute of Technology, Bangalore. During my

undergraduate study, I had the opportunity to explore the multi-facets of Mechanical Engineering.

Although the technical subjects amazed me, I was inspired by learning the work etiquettes and the

knacks of Management. The subjects like safety management, Operations research, quality

management, engineering economics, and product lifecycle management equipped me with a

foundational level of knowledge correlating with my intended Master's course.

I have worked on multiple projects to widen my technical knowledge. I developed the "Design and

Analysis of Air Intake System for SAE Formula Car," where we designed components present in the

assembly of an air intake system, right from selecting the type of air filter that suits our engine to the

material chosen to manufacture those components. Since it happened during the pandemic, we had a

very stringent deadline, and the unavailability of the professors added extra concerns. We had to do a

lot of literature study in the given short timeframe. With determination and hard work, we completed

the project and submitted it within the deadline. By working on this project, I gained expertise in using

the CFD software and learned the basic ethics of communication, team management, tasks scheduling,

and operational management.

for one month, during which I worked on Interfacing of PLC with hydraulics and pneumatics. As a

technical aspect, I learned PLC programming and intellectually improved my listening and execution

skills. I also enrolled for another internship at Hydrolines India Pvt Ltd for a duration of a Fortnite in the

inspection department. I got guidance from the team which used to perform an inspection on the

manufactured hydraulic hoses. This work stint made me comprehend the process of inspection that the

manufactured component undergoes to meet the industrial standards that motivated me to pursue a

Master's degree in Engineering Management.

Throughout the years, I have honed my management skills by taking up various roles to improve my

intellect. Now I am taking a step ahead in my career, by enrolling for a Master’s degree in Engineering

Management to gain proficiency in the domains of Engineering project management, supply chain

management, and economic decision making. Looking out for international universities, the vibrant

intellectual atmosphere, top-tier ranking, innovation-oriented programs, and well-connected East Coast

location of Stevens Institute of Technology impressed me so much. Ranked top in research activities,

studying in such an acclaimed university will help me gain more connections and internship

opportunities. The high concentration of international students' academic activity adds to New Jersey’s

vibrant and forward-thinking atmosphere. Being closer to heritage cities like New York, Chicago, Boston,

Miami, and Washington DC, studying at Stevens Institute of Technology will help me learn the cultural

ties in a better manner.

After graduation, I would like to secure a steadfast managerial position in a growth-oriented company

where I can contribute my skills and experience in devising real-time applications for improving the

quality of products and processes. I will also use my managerial skills to give a positive product to society.

After getting adequate expertise in the industrial executive roles, I would aspire for top-level positions

to achieve the mission of the company and carry out my duties with total passion and integrity. My long-

term goal is to start my venture by being the head of my firm and efficiently managing a group of people,

processes, and businesses successfully. By pursuing a Master's degree in Engineering Management, I am

confident that I will prudently achieve my goals and ambitions.
