Prizes

The first prize would be TT$5,000, the second prize TT$3,000, and the third prize TT$2000

Rules
The following are the rules

1. The competition is only open to amateur Parang groups


2. There are NO entry fees for this competition
3. The competition will be held on Sunday, 11th December 2022, at WASA Sports Grounds.
4. Participating groups will be required to pre-register
5. Groups should have a maximum of 12 participants
6. All participants must be between 5-21 years
7. Groups will have to sing two (2) songs. One is a required piece, and the other an optional
piece. The required piece will be sent to you and as well as four (4) optional pieces.
8. Musical accompaniment will be provided for the 1 required piece, and the 4 optional pieces
will be provided
9. Groups can choose not to use the provided optional songs. However, they will be required
to provide their own musical accompaniment.
10. Musicians are not counted as members of the competition. Therefore, if a group decides to
use their own musicians, they can be over 21 years. However, musicians will not be awarded
prize money or trophies.
11. The decisions of the adjudication panel will be final, and no correspondence will be entered
into regarding any aspect of its work.
12. Performances throughout the competition may be photographed and recorded for
subsequent reproduction and/or broadcast on various media.
13. Participants will not receive payment for recordings or photographs used, and vFamily will be
entitled to reproduce any such recording or photograph for promotional use.
14. Participation in the competition implies acceptance of all rules and regulations.

Judging Criteria
Participants will be judged using the following criteria

1. Vocal Rendition (50%)- the general skilfulness of singing and harmonizing of different parts
2. Performance (20%)- how the group represents what they are singing through their body language
and gestures
3. Creativity (20%)- what creative elements did the group employ to distinguish themselves from
others, such as uniform
4. Crowd Participation (10%)- How did the crowd respond to the group’s performance both online
and in person
