UP-3000/ERASER-C CALIBRATION MODE

1. Enter the Calibration mode:

- Calibration mode helps service engineer to edit the laser energy and the aiming
beam level for parts and components changing.
- At the first ten seconds, when the system turned on, LCD will flashing for selecting
mode at the Welcome display. This time, system allow to enter the calibration
mode by some special keys sequence, after this first ten seconds if user not enter
the Calibration mode system will auto load into the last status of user mode.
- Key sequence to enter the Calibration mode at the first ten seconds:
o One by one, press and hold the keys same to the picture 1:

o Continue the key sequence is for the last password character, please follow
bellow steps:
 Press and hold Power Up key.
 Still keep and hold the Power Up, then press and SP key.

5
o After the correct sequence, the screen will display the Calibration mode,
this means ready for service engineer to user the Calibration mode, see the
below:

Picture 6: The screen for Calibration mode.

2. Using the Calibration mode:
- Calibration mode is used for the energy calibration in CW mode, SP mode and the
UP mode also for the aiming level calibration:
o In the Calibration mode, if press the CW key for calibration the energy of
the CW mode from 0.5w to 30w.
o In the Calibration mode, if press the SP key for calibration the energy of the
SP mode from 1w to 7w.

6
o In the Calibration mode, if press the UP key for calibration the energy of the
UP mode from 1w to 7w.
o In the Calibration mode, if press the AIM key for level calibration of the
aiming beam from level 1 to level 9.
- With every parameters we have two columns, one for system display on the LCD
screen, one is for EEPROM data storage, which used for control the energy of the
laser. For example, with the CW mode will be had two columns, one is selectable
from 0.5w to 30w for the energy display, two is for data of every display levels.
- In Calibration mode, move the flashing cursor by Power key, then increase or
decrease the current value by Power Up or Power Down key.

7
3. Example 1 for calibration the energy in UP mode:
a. First, calibration the energy for UP mode:

Form the first screen of Calibration mode in picture 6, follow below steps for
energy calibration of the UP mode:

o Press UP key to select the Calibration for the UP mode, see the picture 7:

Picture 7: the flashing cursor is appointed at the display column which used
to display on the LCD of the system.
o In the UP calibration screen, there are three columns for UP calibration,
including:
 Column 1, for power display on the LCD screen from 1w to 7w of the
laser.

8
 Column 2, for data to control the laser which store in the EEPROM of
the system for the display energy, see picture 8:

Picture 8: the flashing cursor is appointed at the data column which

used to control the energy level of the laser.

9
 Column 3, for data to control the pulse width of the UP pulse which
also store in the EEPROM to control the time of the pulse, see picture
9:

Picture 9: the flashing cursor is appointed at the pulse width data

column which used to control the time of the pulse.

b. Example 2 for the Aiming level calibration:

Same to the UP energy calibration, the aiming levels calibration will be the
same way. There are two columns for this aiming calibration, one is for the
aiming level display from 0 to 10, one is the data stored in the EEPROM for
each level.

o In the Calibration mode, press the AIM key to enter the aiming calibration:
see the picture

Picture 10: the current flash cursor is in the aiming level

o There are 2 parameters in the AIM calibration mode, including:
 Columns 1, the display level column to LCS screen from 0 to 9, this
level column is in the left of the LCD.
 Columns 2, the data which stored in the EEPROM of the system to
control the bright of the aiming beam. In the picture 11, the flashing
cursor is appoint to the data of the aiming, which stored to the
EEPROM to control the brightness of the aiming.

5. Notes:
- Very careful when using this Calibration mode, only the service engineer who
finished the MEDITECH training for the CO2 laser model, who had a clear and

13
experience about laser service. Otherwise, every mistake in this calibration will
make the system work not correct and failure.
- With any question, please send the e-mail to the MEDITECH in case you not clear
about the calibration.
- The reference table for in this document is not exact and not same from system to
system, it will have some differences for every system be case of the CO2 glass
tube, the laser power specification …
