GUIDE IN THESIS WRITING (Chapter 1-3)

The thesis should be or organized in Chapter as follows:

Chapter 1 INTRODUCTION: (a formally written declaration of the research study and its idea and context
to explain the goals and objectives to be reached and other relevant information that explains
the need for the research. Also it aims to describe the amount of work planned for its conduct
and implementation)

Objectives - This is one of the most important part of the introduction. This is the focus of the
study and all the statements should be categorically answered.

Significance of the Study - In this section the importance of the research is expressed and the
significant contributions of the result of the study are enumerated. Such contributions
may be viewed from the point of the target beneficiaries like the service providers,
client, administrators, planners, decision-makers, the community, the educational
institution and others.

Scope and limitation of the Study - This section defines the boundaries or coverage of the study
in terms of subjects, objectives, facilities, area, time frame and the issues to which the
researched is focused. The limitation of the study defines the constraints and therefore
they are not expected to be covered by the study.

Chapter 2 REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE AND STUDIES

Related Literature - related researches that have been conducted, state-of-the-art or current
technologies from which the research study will take off;

Related Studies - results of related research conducted,

Synthesis of the State of the Art - the state of the art describes the current knowledge about the
studied matter through the analysis of similar or related published work. It provides a
comprehensive overview of what has been done in the field and what should be further
investigated, in order to help formulate the problems and hypothesis the thesis intends
to address. It involves analyzing, comparing, evaluating and linking different sources.

Gap Bridged of by the Study – stating what has not been done and has not been considered yet
by the cited published researches. It presents specific variables to be considered that
will lead to finalizing your research questions.

Theoretical Framework (optional) - other scientific findings, conclusions or assumptions used as


justification for the research and the structure that summarizes concepts and theories
that serve as basis for the data analysis and interpretation of the research data

Conceptual Framework - strategies for implementation

Operational Definition of Terms


Chapter 3 METHODOLOGY - discusses the following:

(a) evaluation method and observations to be made,

(b) variables or parameters to be measured and evaluated or analyzed; formulas to be used;

(c) treatments to be used and their layout;

(d) experimental procedures and design;

(e) statistical analysis;
