My research This study aims to investigate the level of numerical and financial literacy among
question/s
Junior High School Students in the Academic Year 2022-2023of the University of the
East Caloocan by answering the following research questions:

1. What is the measure of problem-solving skills and financial literacy of

the Junior High School UE Caloocan students?
2. What are the learning or instructional materials utilized by these
students in studying mathematics?
3. What is the relationship between the problem-solving skills and the
learning materials used by the Junior High School students?
4. What is the attitude of JHS students toward gamification?

Sampling Procedure:

Stratified Random Sampling

Variables to be studied

Independent Variable:

Learning materials

Dependent Variable:

Numeracy and financial literacy

Controlled Variables:

Age

Gender

How will you analyze the data? Each SOP should have one.

1. The descriptive statistics would be beneficial in determining the level of

problem-solving skills and financial literacy among UE Caloocan Junior High
School students.[Nominal and Ordinal]

2. In figuring out the learning materials, descriptive analysis using center

tendency would be utilized. [Ordinal]

3. To find if there’s any significant relationship that exists between the variables
(problem solving skills, and financial literacy to learning materials) the
Pearson Correlation would be of great help for this study.

3. Moreover, in seeking the attitude of JHS students toward gamification,

descriptive statistics will be employed.

Strategies for ensuring ethics in research

The researchers will make sure that the respondents won't be compelled to participate
by disseminating informed consent in order to provide significance to integrity, honesty,
reliability, and credibility on the researchers' part. In order to preserve participant data,
anonymity and confidentiality would be maintained. Additionally, the researchers will
make use of tools to prevent data manipulation and plagiarism. If using a study
questionnaire requires a permission, the researchers would also take that into
consideration.

The Construction and Validation of a Questionnaire to Assess Student Satisfaction with

Mathematics Learning Materials will be employed. Along with this, a self-made
questionnaire would be developed in order to determine the different learning materials
of JHS students.

Significance of For most students, studying becomes a burden. Sometimes it's just a matter of
the study
completing the prerequisites. The traditional teaching styles can be upgraded into
something new. Gaming is not just for entertainment. However, it could be integrated to
education. It would be beneficial to engage students to a recently developed learning
technique, the gamification, in improving their understanding and skills in numeracy
and financial literacy. This would be of great contribution in enhancing the economic
status of the society in the near future.
