 Hotel Rogner

Elements of history and culture.

In the early 1990ies, just after the birth of the new state of Albania, Robert Rogner, creative Austrian builder,
visionary and entrepreneur decided to invest in the young republic. A sheep pasture, close to the President’s office
in Tirana, became the biggest building site of the town. Kommerzialrat Robert Rogner, founder of Rogner
International, once again started building a bridge to a place that had been out of reach until then.
Due to the poor economic situation and resources all the necessary construction materials, machines and expertise
had to be shipped into Albania via Trieste. 120 Albanian workers and employees were especially trained in Austrian
technical colleges to build the first hotel according to international standards. In 1995 the first guests could be
welcomed in the Rogner Hotel Tirana.
Robert Rogner’s economic initiative and his great commitment to the country has made him an esteemed friend of
Albanian society and he has become Honorary Consul of Albania.

Earthquake Charity
In the earthquake that struck Albania on November 26, many Albanian families had serious consequences. KR
Robert Rogner did not remain indifferent this time either, but without hesitation offered his help to one of the
most affected families by the earthquake. The Kola family,  from the village "Peze e Madhe" was selected as a
beneficiary family and was invited by the hotel management to stay for several months in the hotel. Robert Rogner
provided for Alma and her children a new home in Tirana and a stable job for her that will enable this family to live
a normal life now on.

Water Consumption
For sustainable water usage we provide products and services that reduce water consumption. All taps and
showerheads have water-saving filters that mix water with air. This in no ways affects the gusts’ water-using
experience. The rainwater is collected in a fountain outside in the garden and then used for watering. For better
performance in reducing wastewater and chemicals poured in the sewerage, the hotel has introduced to the guest
room a notification regarding towels, which would not be changed unless they are put on the ground by the guest.

Solar Panels
At Rogner Hotel solar panels are strategically installed since 2001, to harness the sun’s energy and reduce overall
reliance on traditional energy sources. The system using 210m² solar panels meets the hotel’s year-round high
demand for hot tap water with a sustainable and positive business case, cutting down operational costs.
