Metro Manila's major highways, such as EDSA, C-5, and Quezon

Boulevard, are frequently congested with cars, buses, jeepneys, and
other vehicles. As a result, long lines of vehicles form at bus stops, metro
stations, and homes to pick up passengers. The situation is especially
noticeable during rush hour; Mondays through Saturdays are the
busiest. Because of increased traffic in Metro Manila, many commuters
are finding it difficult to get to and from work.

Aside from that, approximately 80% of private modes of

transportation are on Metro Manila's major highways, and several
public works projects of the DPWH and other public sectors are on
these major highways, causing increased traffic on roads. The busiest
stretch of EDSA is from North Avenue to Monumento, which runs
through Caloocan City and Quezon City. Another congested road
segment in Metro Manila is C5 Road, which runs southbound from
Longos to Sucat. Many private vehicles are owned by people who
work in different parts of Metro Manila but live elsewhere.

Many major highways run through Metro Manila, including EDSA,

Buendia, Taft Avenue, Roxas Boulevard, Quirino, and others. Most days,
especially during the week, those major highways are congested.
Traffic is common in Metro Manila due to the presence of commercial
buildings, numerous intersections, and a large number of vehicles, both
private and public. Even though private vehicles consume 80% of the
road, this does not imply that they are the cause of traffic. It should be
prohibited because all Filipino owners rely on private vehicles for
transportation. There is also a law in Metro Manila that determines
which cars can go out every day, which is known as coding. The last
number in the vehicle's license plate number represents the day that
vehicle should not be driven. Public transportation causes traffic
because they switch lanes to accommodate passengers commuting
to work.
