David was happy to meet Peggoty’s

family at Yarmouth. He met Emily who was


also an orphan. David spent a good time with
the kind people who lived at Yarmouth and
he fell in love at the first sight with Mr.
Peggoty’s Niece Emily. Emily had dreams
that she wished to have if she was a lady, she
wished that she could get many expensive
things to Mr. Peggoty because he was kind to
her.
David returned home with Peggoty to find
out that his mother married Mr. Edward
Murdestone and that his sister also came to
live with them at the Rookery. David’s
mother was afraid of Mr. Murdstone and his
sister so she didn’t talk to David and he
treated David badly. One day Mr.
Murdstone beat David and he bit Mr.
Murdstone’s hand so he left him alone in the
room for five days and then decided to send
him to a boarding school.
