I was born in France
in Paris and celebrate
my birthday on 21 of
November. By the
way, my real name is
Francois-Marie
Arouet.
What is a political
situation in France ?
• I live in The Kingdom of France .
The King Louis 15 th decides
everything. He has got an
absolute power. The courts
nobles and other aristocrats , and
clergy are immersed in luxury
because they have got many
lands and do not pay taxes.
Artisans , merchants and
peasants work hard .
Are you more a writer , a poet, a
scientist, a historian or a philosopher ?

• I always have own opinions on everything. I


prefer when I am called a philosopher . It is
so magnificent! I like a sarcasm so you can
title me
• “ Satirical philosopher or The King of
Mockery”.
Why did you decide to • First of all , I was born in a rich
family of tabellion. My mum
ridicule the existing was a courtesan. My dad wanted
me to become a lawyer but I
think it is so boring.
society , the rules? • Secondly , I was studying at Jesuit
college and there we were
learning many subjects:
Grammar, Rhetoric, Theology,
Dialectics, Astronomy, Science,
Geometria.
• Thirdly , I was prisoned in Bastille
twice . The cell of jail has
changed my ideology.
• Additionally , I travelled to England
and the teaching of John Locke
affected me.
Why were
you prisoned?
• First time , I was prisoned
because I have written
sarcastic poem against
the regent of France The
Duke of Orleans. I was
23 years old. Then I had
a fight with chevalier de
Rogan who had an
insolence to deride at me
and I lost my temper.
You do not like a church , priests, bishops and
other clergy .Are you an atheist ?
No. I am deist.
• What does this notion mean?
I believe in God as The Great Creator: God has
created the Earth and other planets , the Universe
, the nature but next Human creates everything, for
example : this wig which I am wearing was made
by Mullet and a breakfast was made by my cook;
these white, leather gloves were made with hand of
some talented tailor.
Human’s brain can do many, many things. I believe
in Human’s Mind as Huge Potence.
Do you support the idea of democracy?
• I think the best political system is
intelligent absolutism, who manages
a clever monarch-philosopher. I am
afraid, that peasants will never find
time to study. To my opinion it is
necessary to exist ignorant people.
When mob starts discourse ,
everything falls. Folk is always rude,
they are bulls, who need yoke, driver
and feed.
What do you appreciate in person’s nature?
• First of all – a brilliant Mind, which can make wonders.
• The second point – humility. We must understand :our world
is the best and it can not be worse because it is managed
by God who brings only wells for mankind.
• The third point – a courage, which my main hero Zahid had.
• The foutrh point- the justice which is lack in our Louis XV
because he only thinks about conquest other territories and
preparing parties in Versailles.
• And of course I appreciate the sense of humour. Noses are
created to wear glasses so we wear glasses; legs exist to
wear trousers so we wear trousers; stones are created to
build castles; pigs are created to be eaten up and we eat
boiled pork whole year.

• You are an author over 20,000 pamphlets and over
2000 books: you know much about history, you
have written over 50 – 60 plays. Many French
people quote you. Soon I know, a new book
“Zadig “ will be published.
• As soon as possible. This book tell us much
interesting information about legends of
East, superstitions and so on. The main
hero Zadig has got many dangerous
adventures. He is brave, clever and wise.
These abilities help him to survive . He was
an ordinary boy, third-married, a minister
and even a slave … he has changed many
social positions but owing acumen …it is
better to read. You will find fantastic
events there..
Some views of Voltaire
• 1. There are no coincidences. Everything in this world
is either a punishment or a reward , or trial, or
warning.
• 2. People judge about everything, knowing nothing.
• 3. Temptations are like winds which blow sails of ship .
Sometimes they cause its doom but without them it
can not sail.
• 4. Angry people are always unhappy but they exist for
trials of honest persons.
• 5. The title of high priest was the oldest son of Big Bear
, Bull’s brother , cousin of Big Dog.

The Maid of Orleans  
 The poem was outlawed, burned and banned throughout a great
portion of Europe during the 18th and the 19th centuries. I have
written not against Leanne d’Arc but against her false church cult.
Maiden purity can not be the reason of victory in the war and horrible
French has sold Leanne for British who accused her in magic and
burnt on the fire. Traitors !!!
