A picture of potensic t25 drone with camera

Summary
Potensic T25 is an excellent bargain, not too heavy, not too light and sits at a pretty
sweet spot for not being very costly while having a remarkable feature set.

Pros
 Compact and small without being bulky.
 The propeller protectors did what these were intended to do.
 The 1080p camera addition is excellent.
 It will keep most if not all smartphones plus the application works well while
in use.
 Nice to find a few spares parts in the package as it looks like they are more
probably to be wanted.

Cons
 Flying time/battery life – and – second battery in the package would help.
 As a new user, the truth is that learning how to fly is somewhat stressful.

Introduction
Are you searching for your very first quadcopter or an update from a cheap mini-
drone?

Reasonable price, decent battery life, and many great features – this Potensic T25
model have almost all the things you could require in a drone.

Let us check out the Potensic T25 review and find out if their performance and
feature set are suitable for you.

The Potensic T25 is a cost-effective follow me quad from a growing company. We

took it to a test flight and disclosed our research in our complete review here.

Drone Specifications

Potensic T-25 Packaging

The T25 drone arrives pretty well set up right from the pack, and through the
first unboxing, you realize you have taken the right decision.
When you order this product, you also will get a detailed user manual, a
transmitter, a battery, USB battery charger, four extra protection guards, two extra
landing gears, a screwdriver, and four spare propeller blades.

However, as you noticed in the picture above, you will find so many extra little
parts, both spares and required that it yet feels like a kit rather than a completed
product.

Pro Tip: Because the drone will not include storage memory card for your videos
and photos, consider getting a large one, so you are not short of storage memory.

Potensic T25 Specs & Design

Upon our first impression, the white color of the controller and drone is virtually
praise to the times of the good old i-macs and e-macs by Apple, and each has
quality and robust feel for them.

From a visual standpoint, it pops out unique but we would forgive practically
anybody for confusing it to a drone by the market leader.

Functionally, the T25 design done well. The landing leg is replaceable so are the
propeller guards and the propellers.

Let us move on to photo and video.

T25 Quadcopter Size
This aircraft comes at a compact stature and when combined with the camera, it
weighs hardly a kilogram.

Its portable size enables it to stuff snugly in your bag so you can go with it
comfortably.

Due to the small dimension, it is ideal for flying inside where the room is limited.

T25 Camera
The on-board camera is the reason why we think UAV’s intrigue many of us, not to
mention T25 boasts 1080P.

A massive improvement from other versions in its cost range that just offers 720p
resolution cameras.

The camera did a pretty decent job. However, it could be slightly jumpy and also
the clarity is not quite as powerful as we were hoping.

The video quality is pretty decent, and the camera lens boasts a 120º field of view
(FoV), so you may capture plenty thanks to the wide-angle.

You find electronic stabilization yet that is as much as it will go so do not expect
super stable video.

Videos saved in .avi file on the memory card and .mov format on your iPhone.

That is useful as macs do not read .avi format natively so you will need to get VLC
or any other editor/player.

You precisely see what you are recording on your remote control screen.

It would record any videos or photos straight to your smartphone and an SD card if
you got it installed.

We will say it was amazing to watch the T25 rotated at nearly a 25-degree angle
and holding its shape.
Pro Tip: For better-quality videos and still shots, we suggest that you route them to
an SD card when filming. You can insert the SD card into the slot given for that.

T25 Drone Battery Life & Flight Time

The battery offers flight time of around 8 minutes. So, we ordered extra battery
thus we would have twice the flight duration among charging sessions.

The more minutes you could spend hovering, the more effective you will be and
better the results you will get from photos and video.

When your flying machine runs out of power, it automatically returns home or gets
to your way so you should not face hard luck tracing it down.

The main criticism from any pilot will be battery life. We would advise at least one
more battery and possibly two like you went flying, you will want a minimum of
30 minutes.

Also, after the battery of the controller is depleted you are done since it takes 60
minutes to charge if even you brought the power bank.

Potensic T-25 Setup & Calibration

When you are doing all the setups, the “am I performing this correct?” weigh upon
you considerably. The set up is not hard; it is just not straightforward nor fast if you
are expecting something much like a remote control car.

1. Charge your batteries.

2. Install the microSD card, not included in the camera.
3. Press the prop guards into position.
4. Install the battery in the remote control.
5. Install the smartphone cradle in the controller.
6. Download and start the Potensic-G app.
7. Switch on the quadcopter and put it down on the level floor, and all lighting
should blink red. Note: You ought to be in a spacious area, and the lights are
hard to notice in bright sunlight.
8. Turn on your remote control. Press UP next DOWN in the left side joystick.
Lights in the front should flash white, rear blue.
9. On your smartphone hop into options and connect with WiFi broadcast from
the drone (Potensic-xxx) after that come back on the app.
10.Calibrate its compass by pushing each joystick for the inward and forward
corners (left at 1, right at 11). Note: Now you should see a red in between the
flashing (red/blue in rear, red/white in front).
11.Calibrate the gyroscope by pressing every control key to the outwards and
forward corners (left at 11, right at 1). Note: You should see lights blink
rapidly.
12.Grab the drone and in one steady motion flip your body into a circle
maintaining the drone leveled in your front. Rear lights will turn solid blue.
13.Now tip your quadcopter face down (props forward) and repeat the same
stuff keeping the quadcopter in this angle. Front lights will turn solid white.
14.The app will confirm calibration ok. After that, you should set the quad
again on the leveled surface in which the lights should return to particular
blue/white flashing as the quad is waiting for the signal of GPS.
15.Once the lights go back to everything solid, you are ready to take flight, and
the application will say so.
16.The last step is in the software; you should click on controls to launch the
flying display.

T25 RC Controller

The controller appears beginner-friendly. It seems similar to a computer game

controller, thus if you have previous experience with the Xbox can feel at home.

Here you can find the [takeoff/landing], [power], and [return to home] buttons
together with plenty of indicators which aid in communicating which options the
drone got active.

Those are lit adequately during use hence hard to mistake.

There are many controls located on the transmitter, but it adds up to a learning bend
that is as thin as your know-how with this setup type.

The controller will not feature a display of its own nevertheless the universal
bracket lets you snap an Android smartphone or iPhone easily into place.

Flight & GPS Performance

Regarding actually piloting the device, Potensic has implemented a few features
that aid a beginner drone pilot significantly.

The first you will find is a single button take-off which literally will work as
marketed. Another one is auto-land that relieves a big frustration away by landing
on your behalf.

We noticed the T25 drone to be quite responsive for the controller along with a
minimal lag – and it includes the footage delay too.

Potensic T25 Features

Potensic’s best-selling T25 drone got many functions, almost too much to grasp.
Need to learn more? Keep reading.

First Person View

For real-time video and photos transmission, this quadcopter has the FPV function
that enables you to see what your quadcopter is viewing real-time precisely.

GPS Lock
If you occur to be anywhere where you cannot get a signal lock, you may press and
hold the right side joystick for two seconds to turn off GPS. Remember that also
will turn off any other features that depend on GPS like follow-me and return
home.

Follow Me Mode
Follow me is a function that got us really excited. While testing, the drone did what
it is supposed to execute and should you backup, it advances.

The issue is with a few GPS drifts; occasionally it could get a bit nearer than we
expected that resulted in us stepping back also it carrying on to advance.

Do not expect facial recognition or anything similar to that. This drone uses your
smartphone to transfer the GPS transmission. Nevertheless, it is a pretty great use
of the technology at a low price range we think.

Headless Mode
A unique function is a headless mode that means forward is ever forward
depending on your controller’s starting position and left side is in the forward’s left
motion.

It is super helpful if you are thinking grid type. However, if you flip over because
you traveled the drone right behind you, you will need to remap the controls
mentally for having the drone execute what you need it to perform.

One Touch Take Off

Press the one button take-off, and the props whirr to action lifting the quadcopter to
about five feet from the ground at which point you can observe it holds its position.

Return to Home
Also, there is a one push return to home feature that will come right back for you
with GPS signal. It is pretty handy because the drone got a distance of around
300m that is pretty good for a model at this amount.

How to Be Safe When Flying It

This drone includes several features which make sure you never miss your drone
when it is in flight.

First of all, it is backed up with GPS tracking tech that enables you to position your
quadcopter accurately preventing any potential loss.
Furthermore, this drone comes with 4 LEDs making it simple to track your drone
while flying it at night.

Also, the drone can perform an auto-return if the connection gets dropped or if the
battery drains, therefore, preventing any potential crash.

When running on the GPS setting, you can instruct your T25 drone to go back to
the place from where it took off in just by clicking the return home button, suppose
it gets off of sight.

All these security features help you enjoy the flight experience without stressing
that you may lose your aircraft.

Is Potensic T25 Worth It?

In this Potensic T25 drone review section, the first added value is that customer
support appears to be efficient coming through online reports.

A few customers who have had defective components have had a fast turnaround
with replacements that should be additional ease to the bargain.

Aside from low batteries, the Potensic T25 FPV drone yet has some excellent value
for cash here – particularly for beginner users.

A large part of that worth is what the quadcopter comes with, apart from its
functionality. You get all the accessories you need to get started flying.

The T25 quad is an excellent worth, not too light, not too heavier, and sits on a
pretty decent place as much as not getting too costly while having a remarkable
feature set.

inexpensive.

This model is ideal for everyone searching for an affordable option but with all the
features which the more expensive bigger drones have.

Hi, my drone had a semi-hard landing in tall grass; now, the camera motor whizzes
and doesn’t move the camera. Is there a fix? Or do I need to get a new camera? The
camera still works and takes pics. But it doesn’t move.

Reply

Oliver McClintock
Hi Stephen,
We feel sorry for the crash. Unfortunately, T25 isn’t the most durable drone out
there, so it is true in your situation. Have you confirmed all camera moving
parts are in one piece? Try inquiring the manufacturer about a possible fix. As a
last resort, consider getting a new camera.

Is there any way to switch the toggle controls? I would like the
forward/back/left/right on the right toggle stick and the up/down on the left; it
would be more in line with how I play video games because that’s how I have my
controls set up on my ps4. It would make learning how to fly this thing much easier
as I’m more familiar with that setup.

Reply

Oliver McClintock
Hi Chris,

We think it’s not possible to switch the toggle controls in this model.
Understandably, you prefer the video game controls set up, but S5C is not the
most customizable drone around. It’s pretty much fixed in standard controls and
left with a bit of a learning curve for beginner pilots. Anyways, check with the
vendor or manufacturer directly if there is a hidden option to switch your toggle
controls.

My Potensic T25 flies very nicely and seems to do everything it is supposed to do,
but when I try to fly it beyond a distance of about 150 feet, it just does a dip and
starts back towards me. It does not return but waits for me to take over with the
joystick. I can bring it back, but I can’t make it go further than about 150 feet out
from me. What am I doing wrong? I bought this drone to learn on before I graduate
to a more expensive drone, so I have a ways to go with the T25 yet. Can you help
as to what I might be encountering? I started thinking that it might somehow be
locked into the Follow-Me mode, but I have not even used it yet, to the best of my
knowledge.

Oliver McClintock
Hi Jerry,

Sorry to hear about your issues with the drone range. It seems a weird issue
because we own a Potensic T25 drone and it flies beyond 150 feet with no
problems. The max flight distance of this model is 300m. So, we assume you
are either facing a technical failure or the drone is not properly paired/calibrated
with the controller. Maybe you could check out some YouTube videos or
directly contact Potensic support for further help. What we can say is you have
the right idea that is to start with a small drone then advance to high-end units.

Hi Oliver,

I’m pretty happy with my T25; however, when I fly it out to a distance over 100 m.
the drone responds to the controls, but the video quits. The video resumes when
returning to me using the RETURN TO ME button. The video files on the phone
show that large gap, but the video files on the mSD card are not readable on my
laptop. I have gotten it out to 200 m. and 40 m. high, but what good is it if you
can’t get the video.
Also, what about that RECORDING microphone button. I cannot figure out how to
use that.

Thanks

Hey Oliver, my t25 drone controller won’t charge…??? I plug it in, and hours later,
no battery is showing up on my phone screen.

When I unplug the charging cord, the power light just blinks because the battery is
low. I realize this stuff comes from China, and quality/consistency may or may not
always be there. My feeling is that this controller or battery inside the controller is
no good.

Can I buy another controller? Everything else is excellent with the drone etc.

Such an informative web page. Unfortunately, while flying my T25 Potensic drone,
one of my rotor wheels got damaged. The drone kit comes with replacement
wheels, yet besides a picture labeling parts, there is no mention on how to replace
them. I have sent a message to Potensic yet have no reply regarding this issue. Any
help or direction to find this info is much appreciated.

Oliver McClintock
Hey Rick, thanks for liking our website. Sorry to hear about your rotor blade
bust. Luckily for you, it had arrived with a spare wheel, so you don’t have to
spend extra from your pocket. Instructions may be vague, and you should hear
back from the Potensic anytime soon. Meanwhile, head to YouTube and type
“potensic t25” and you will find some useful videos on the whole setup process,
including replacing propellers.

Hello Oliver
Is it possible for this drone to take a series of photos while orbiting a particular
point?

Reply

Oliver McClintock
Kevin, what you want can be achieved with a smart flight mode called Orbit.
But, as far as our knowledge, it is not available on Potensic T25 Drone. Though,
it is available on a slightly more expensive Potensic D58 model. If money is not
an issue, DJI drones are the go-to option for smart flight modes, including the
Orbit one. These are far more accurate, reliable, and works like a charm.

My T25 controller will not hold a charge. I plug it in, it shows full charge in
minutes, and when I pull the app up on the phone, it shows the battery as empty and
will not let me operate the drone. Do these batteries have memory and is mine
ruined?

Reply

Oliver McClintock
Hi Lewis,
This battery charging issue is a common debate among consumers, so you are
not alone. We have already discussed it here in the comments section. For such
technical faults, you better reach out to the manufacturer directly. Right out of
the bat, we’d suggest inspecting existing batteries for any damage or buying a
new set of batteries from the original vendor.

Oliver McClintock
It seems like a strange issue with T25’s SD card. We have not heard of a similar
problem with other Potensic customers. Maybe there is a malfunction or product
arrived defective. Try contacting the manufacturer or vendor directly for further
assistance. They may either help fix the problem or replace the unit when
appropriate.

Oliver McClintock
Hello Kevin, welcome on-board, and this storage issue is common with Potensic
models. Make sure you correctly export all previous videos onto a PC or
external hard drive safely. Before you film a video, ensure the slot is entirely
free and always take short videos for space efficiency factor. If you feel the
need for more storage, try inserting a micro SD card and enjoy the fun. If it
appears to be a technical problem, you better contact the vendor or manufacturer
directly for further assistance.

Oliver McClintock
@ Miguel & @ Ivan – Judging both by your comments, we assume you face
similar issues. Potensic drones, especially T25, can be quite problematic due to
the lack of instructional videos and comprehensive customer support. Their app
is hit and miss and can be glitchy at times. We recommend you uninstall and
reinstall the app again to see whether a live video feature is working. Also,
make sure you have an uninterrupted data connection and close all background
apps while running the Potensic app. If the problem persists, it is recommended
that both you contact the manufacturer directly, and hopefully, they can help
you out with the technical end.

Any way to find the GPS location of the drone if it goes down in a field? Besides
the overview map imaged. Maybe a more detailed map of location?

Reply

Oliver McClintock
Keri, nice to meet you. We think there is no other way to find the drone’s GPS
location beside the overview map provided. Typically, you would find a more
detailed map location in high-end drone brands such as DJI or Yuneec. With
T25, GPS is not as advanced as you would have liked, but it is decent for a
casual flight. Check with the user manual to see if there are any hidden options
within the drone to reveal a detailed map location on the remote controller.

I can’t quite understand the headless mode, or even how to activate it. Can you help
explain what it is and how to do it?

Reply

Oliver McClintock
If you turn this Headless Mode on, you do not have to care for your drone
orientation while flying. When you push a stick on your remote control, that is
the direction the quadcopter will move. This feature is especially beneficial for
beginner and young pilots who are yet to find feet in remote control drones. You
can activate it using a button on the controller, but the position of it varies for
each drone model. But, it will be somewhere there, and please refer to the
manual supplied if you are not sure about the location. If you want to learn how
headless mode works, head to YouTube, there are tons of informational videos
on how this function works and how to enable it.

Hey, Rudy, that is a strange issue you have with your T25 camera. Did you

Is it normal that on low battery the drone returns home by the fastest path?
Last time it went on a wall
Cause I was flying low and around a house.

Reply

Oliver McClintock
Hi Sibbe, sorry to hear about your drone crash. Since Potensic T25 is a GPS
Drone, it features auto return home when it is a weak signal or low power. The
drone itself decides the return path, so it necessarily does not have to be the
fastest one.

As a rule of thumb, it is best to avoid flying too close to properties or fly till the
last bit of battery runs out rather than safely landing it when the battery hits 10-
20 percent. Having a spare set of batteries comes in handy to enjoy
uninterrupted flight sessions.

I have a Potensic T25 (GPS & follow me) after I set up with drone and controller
and I tried to connect internet with my phone (Samsung-SM-J727V) but I still
didn’t get to the phone.

“Potensic-30dd08” has a weak internet connection. Switch to mobile data is turned

on, so you will be switched to mobile data whenever your Wi-Fi connection is
weak.

Yes, I did most time but still didn’t get a connection with phone and drone.

Please give me an advice.

Thanks,
James

Oliver McClintock
Hi James,
Sorry for the late reply, friend. Did you try contacting the Potensic about this
internet connection issue? Because their support may help you out.

As far as our knowledge, app connectivity is not Potensic’s strong suite, but
most of the time you can get a connection with drone and phone provided that
you have a stable, uninterrupted WiFi or data connection. Make sure you have
the up-to-date Potensic app and is compatible with your mobile phone.

If the problem still persists, try with another phone just to verify there is nothing
wrong on your end. Hope it helps James!

Hello, I have had my T25 for more than a week now. I am having a problem with
the included manual. The text is so tiny, and when I enlarged it to print in a ledger
size sheet, it got worse. The manual seems to be a scanned image (4″x6″) that got
converted to PDF. I sent the manufacturer a message requesting an original PDF. I
am looking for a more legible manual since most of us don’t have good eyes.

In your “Setup & Calibration” section, you asked to “Install the battery in the
remote control.” My T25 does not have such, and it seems to have a charging USB
port.

My last point is, your instructions here, would it be enough to start learning and
flying my drone?

Thanks in advance.

Congrats on your new T25. Feel sorry to hear about your bad experience with
the included manual. It used to be the case with some other manufacturers as
well. If the manufacturer still has not responded back with a legible manual, try
googling for the words “Potensic T25 manual,” and you may find one in
appropriate size with easy-to-read text. Or search YouTube for flight
demonstration video.
Our Setup & Calibration section is only a general guideline, and product
features may vary from model to model, but it should be somewhere there in the
unit. Our instructions pretty much cover the basics and should be enough to take
flight, but we recommend reading other customer reviews is equally important.
They might contain answers to your problems or help identify new features you
were not previously aware.

After charging one of the batteries, the blue lights on the battery would not go off.
The drone was just shipped to me on Saturday, June 8th. What could the issue be?

Mike, we think you better off contact the manufacturer directly to sort out this
battery issue. We are just a drone review site and does not involve in resolving
any technical problems with the drone and its accompanying parts. As far as our
knowledge, maybe one of those batteries arrived defect or internal issue with the
battery charger.
