Assessment Model
Using the Good-to-Great model will help focus on the leadership aspect of the
organization. Because this organization has little experience with the style of leadership I will
For the culminating project, I would like to do a power point presentation presenting the
Good-to-Great model to my employees. The power point will discuss the concepts of Good-to-
Great model and break them down to make it a good visual experience. I am choosing to create a
power point slide because I believe it would be more effective then reading a manual with only
text. The goal here is to have my employee’s full attention when reviewing the power point
slides to limit any confusion on expectations. Power points can allow team members to be
engaged by having them add comments. Having a sense of collaboration ensures all feedback is
taken in.
Presentation Outline
When creating the power point slides for the employees of my organization, I want it to
be professional but also visually appealing. I will first start the presentation with an introduction
of what organizational assessments are. Keeping in mind that my employees most likely have
little knowledge on this subject, I want to make it a teaching session where they are encouraged
to ask questions. The introduction will consist of the understanding of organizational assessment,
provide key attributes of what organizational assessment is, and why it is important to the health
of any type of organization. After the introduction section, I will have a chart that shows an
overview of the various types of assessments models that can be used. This is when I will go
over the strengths, weaknesses, and focus for each assessment model. I think it is important to
share this with my employees so there is some understanding of each specific assessment model.
Once the chart of different assessment models is discussed, I will then introduce the team
to the assessment model that will be used for the organization. Like I had stated in the
presentation method, I will be using the Good-to-Great assessment model. In my presentation, I
will be discussing the 9 concepts of the Good-to-Great model. Each concept will have their own
slide so once concept can be analyzed at a time. I believe having to much context within a slide
can decrease the amount of information that can be absorbed. Keeping it straight forward will
help me deliver this to my employee’s and to successfully train them with this assessment model
and the different concepts. At the end of my presentation, I will open it up to the floor and have a
While presenting this power point, I want there to be a good flow and limit the jumping
around on topics. I have been a part of organizations that presented power points but there was
no flow to it. I felt I was confused on certain topic because it was not clear when being
presented. I want to limit this for my employees in this organization so I can limit the
uncertainty.
