I. INTRODUCTION

Technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in the Philippines is

progress that ensures national development through accelerated human capital
development by providing lifelong learning opportunities for all. This kind of vocational
education and training gives a high-class education that assists individuals especially
the learners in the unique process in society. Developing this kind of profession and
innovation will produce capable and productive Filipino people who can take lead in the
advancement of knowledge and improve the skills and practices of human life. It is a
guide to the development of TVET in the Philippines and also in Industrial Arts.
As a future educator of TVET, I have this basic philosophy that as an individual I
must respond effectively to the changing needs and conditions of the economy and
through this Industrial Arts and Technical and vocational education and training (TVET),
I do believe that having the interest to become a professional can create different
advancement and noteworthy environment for the development and quality education
and service delivery of the TVET to produce training, work-ready, globally competitive
workers through the help of 21st-century skills. I hear a lot about how important it is for
today’s students to develop their 21st-century skills and to know more about the
concepts and major related to Industrial Arts. In addition to what is often referred to as
the basics in information’s about the evolution, utilization and significance with industry,
its organization, materials, occupations, processes and products; and with problems
and benefits resulting from the technological nature of society. The foundation concept
of this subject and its underpinning principle is progress that attempts to develop
learning, especially for the future educators. It ensures development by providing life-
long learning opportunities. This kind of learning give learners readiness to learn that
will assist them in a unique process that they confront in a real-life situation. Motivating
them to learn to the extent will help them to perform tasks as well as who can take a
lead in knowledge and improve the quality and practices of human life. There are seven
key skills that unlock children's early learning. This skills will help the children to find by
self-awareness, relationship skills like communication, collaboration, teamwork, active
listening, and empathy. I know that there are lots of things that I should learn in order to
be educated well and to develop 21st century skills. I must acknowledge that learning
this 21st century skills is a highly complex skills, it involves deep understanding of the
good practices of all areas in Industrial Arts.
The Introduction to Industrial Arts is programs, training, and many different kinds
of processes to develop skills. These kinds of education and training changes the
schools to prepare students for jobs that have not yet been created, technologies that
have not yet been invented and problems that we don’t yet know will arise. This kind of
transformation will benefit us that need skills upgrading, students of higher-level
qualifications, overseas Filipino workers, and the unemployed.

II. SYNTHESIS OF LEARNING DISCOURSES

Learning discourse in this topic “Introduction to Industrial Arts” has made me
realize that even I, as a young woman with a dream to become a future educator, can
make a small difference in the industry but it requires good practices through different
activities or a career that involves serving others. Throughout the semester we have
tackles different topics about Introduction to Industrial Arts. My learning experience about
this lesson contributed to my decision to become a better educator from my course
which is drafting technology. I am very thankful that this topic that involves me motivates
me to earn new knowledge that can be applied to my course by knowing the different
quality and good practices in industrial arts that serve also in teaching the future learners
to make me a better teacher someday. The use of the different concepts in this subject
and education: It helps me to find out my characteristic and skills which would help me to
become a good teacher. The good practices listed in these lessons are attributes
needed in workplace.
In the field of automotive I have learned and gained knowledge about the
automotive basics and helps me to know that information about the skills in the repair,
maintenance, and servicing of vehicle systems. After knowing this information there a
practices that need to be consider that is applicable to safety and environmental rules
and regulations in automotive. The good practices that I’ve gained in this topic is that it
allows us students to reinforce, apply, and transfer academic knowledge and skills to a
variety of interesting and relevant activities, problem and settings. It teaches safety, tool
identification, proper tool use, and employability. To avoid problems in automotive, each
piece of the automotive supply chain logistics jigsaw must fall into place precisely at the
correct time and at the right place.
When it comes to the field of electronic and electricity there are some electrical
failures that may occur. When working with electricity, it's critical to follow all good
practices and safety procedures. There must be no limitations in terms of safety, and
basic rules must be observed first. The following fundamental recommendations for safe
electricity handling can assist you while dealing with electricity. When working with
electricity, I've learnt that it's best to stay away from water at all times. Wet hands should
never be used to touch or attempt to repair any electrical equipment or circuits. It
improves the electrical current's conductivity. When working on any branch circuit or
other electrical circuit, always wear suitable insulated rubber gloves and eyewear.
Always use insulated tools.
In terms of civil technology, it focuses on the constructed environment's concepts
and principles, as well as the technical process. It includes both technical skills and basic
knowledge. This topic attempts to develop and improve the construction industry in order

to increase the personal and societal quality of life while also ensuring the long-term use

of the natural environment and it includes the woodworking. Woodworking is one of the
safest and most fun activities anyone can engage in, as long as it follows a few simple
safety regulations. These woodworking safety regulations are designed to be easy to
remember. Failure to follow the safety standards, however, might result in serious injury.
It is not appropriate to be careless in the workshop. It's the place to learn and practice
safe working habits, which will make woodworking more engaging and interesting.  It is
advised to wear safety equipment at all times.
When it comes to Shielded Metal Arc Welding, it is important to know that welding
is a fabric process whereby two or more parts are fused by means of heat, pressure or
both forming a join as the parts cool. It is important to understand the welding safety
regulations. Whether welding is done on a daily basis in a facility or only for special
projects, it's essential to keep updated on safety standards and personal protective
equipment (PPE) requirements. By including these safety precautions into your project,
you can avoid becoming another injury statistic.
In the area of graphic arts is a traditional fine arts category that includes any type
of visual aesthetic expression for example, painting, drawing, photography, printmaking
that is usually produced on flat surfaces. Graphic arts denotes those art forms involved in
printmaking, such as etching and engraving, including dry point.
In the last one is the refrigeration and air conditioning, to clean the ac unit inside
we must turn off the power to the air conditioner, open up the ac unit, clean the air
conditioner evaporator coils, clean the ac drain pan, clean the air conditioner drain if it is
plugged and close the ac access pane. Another best practice for sustaining a good air
conditioner is to have air conditioner maintenance performed by a trustworthy heating
and cooling business. A well-maintained air conditioner contributes to a more energy-
efficient, comfortable, and healthier household.

III. CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATION

In conclusion, it can be seen that throughout the course, the aim of Introduction to
Industrial Arts is to deliver quality education with skills and knowledge. Through the
discussion and paperwork’s I have gained many insights about the curriculum and
development of the school in line with the TVET system. This course learning outcome
is to articulate the rootedness of education highlighting TVET along philosophical,
technological, and socio-economic foundation on the technical and certificate. First,
TVET system and the connected subject like Introduction to Industrial Arts is a field
open us students shaping our skills and talent wherein through the cooperation of the
different institution in the community is to achieve its ultimate aims and goals, it is to
provide quality education. Second TVET system selects the right and best educator who
can provide adequate knowledge within the degree and area of specialization. Lastly, as
a future educator I’ve realized that TVET system is a progress which ensure national
development through accelerated human capital development by providing lifelong

opportunities for all. I feel so fortunate to have participated in this a TVET system
program. I strongly believe that this activity or one similar to it should be offered and
encouraged to student at all colleges and universities. I think that volunteerism makes
our world a better place. I plan to perform better voluntarily for as long as I am capable
of doing so.
I would definitely recommend the Industrial Arts to other students for several
reasons. First of all, I believe that it would cause them to become less self-absorbed and
feel more grateful for what they have and what they are able to do. This subject
experience may also confirm a student’s desired major and/or career goals or make
him/her reconsider them. Finally, the community interaction survey experience gained
from the TVET program and industrial arts can be listed on one’s resume, which may
increase his/her likelihood of obtaining employment
