Lesson Plan 1

The document provides a lesson plan for teaching about the phylum Annelida. The lesson plan aims to describe the general characteristics of annelids, identify organisms in the three classes of Annelida (Polychaeta, Oligochaetes, and Hirudinea), and identify the ecological importance of annelids. The lesson will involve introducing the topic, discussing classification and characteristics of annelids in-depth, a group activity with worksheets, and presentations of student work before concluding and linking to the next lesson.

Topic: Phylum Annelida

Lesson Plan
Student: Ashwarya Ashleen Chand School: Vunimono High School

ID Number: S11171989 Subject: Biology

Program of study: BSCGCED Lesson duration : 1hr

Associate Teacher: Mrs. Anshul Karthik Class/Form/Year: 13

University Lecturer: Date: 07/09/22

A brief summary of the lesson:

Phylum Annelida is a very broad phylum belonging to the kingdom Animalia. The Annelids
are found in aquatic as well as terrestrial environments. These are bilaterally symmetrical
invertebrate organisms. Their segmented body distinguishes them from any other organism.
Annelida are divided into three main classes, primarily on the basis of presence and absence
of parapodia, setae, metameres, and other morphological features. This lesson will discuss the
general characteristics of annelids and its classification into the 3 classes; Polychaeta,
Oligochaetes and Hirudinea.
