A32NX Checklist: Starting at gate COLD & DARK

simBrief Integration
Browse to simBrief website … sign in to NaviGraph
Create or select saved flight plan
Generate flight plan

MSFS – World Map


Select: Departure Airport
Select: Gate
DO NOT select arrival airport
Select: FLY

CTRL-8 - Overhead Panel


Select: Batteries 1 & 2: ON
Select: External Power: (Will Say AVAIL): Switch to ON
Crew Supply: ENABLE
ROTATE: NAV 1, 2 & 3: to NAV
NAV & LOGO Lights: ON
No Smoking: ON
Emergency Exit: Armed

CTRL-1, 2, 3, 6 – Various Panels


Turn on all panel lights. Adjust brightness as needed

MSFS Utilities
Start pop-out routine
Start MCDU server
Connect iPad

CTRL-0 - FlyPad
Check setting - Sync MSFS Flight Plan set to SAVE
Import simBrief flight plan
Connect PAX Jetway via GROUND SERVICES

CTRL-5 - MCDU
Select: MCDU MENU
Select: ATSU
Select: AOC then INIT/PRES
Select: INIT DATA REQ – this Requests the simBrief flight plan
Select INIT A page on MCDU
Select: INIT REQUEST* - This loads the simBrief flight plan into the MCDU
Verify FLT NBR
Verify COST INDEX (EX: 37)
Verify CRZ FL/TEMP

CTRL-5 - MCDU
Select: MCDU Menu
Select: ATSU Menu
Select: AOC Menu
Select: W/B
Select: Request SEND*
Select: Boarding START* - this will start the boarding process – monitor until complete
WAIT until boarding and cargo complete
Select INIT B page on MCDU
Select ZFW/ZFWCG button TWICE to autofill weights
Request FUEL PLANNING*
BLOCK Fuel entered automatically
Select Block CONFIRM*

CTRL-5 - MCDU
Select: MCDU menu
Select: ATSU menu
Select: AOC menu
Select: Wx Request or ATIS (USA)
Select: Wx Type: METAR
CheckDEP Airport
Check ARR Airport
Check ALT Airport
Select: SEND – this will queue the printout

CTRL-3 - ECAM
Await “COMPANY MSG” on Upper ECAM Display

CTRL-5 - MCDU
Select: RETURN TO AOC MENU (Lower Left FMC)
Select: RECEIVED MESSAGES
Select: METAR, then PRINT. Mouse Click printout - This will place paper readout on center console.

CTRL-2 – AP Panel
Set QNH per METAR on MCP (A/P Panel) Co-Pilot Panel and Standby ISI. (B-Button on Keyboard)
CTRL-5 - MCDU
Select F-PLAN page:
Adjust waypoints if desired – CLR Discontinuities
Check ATIS: Note DEP Runway.
Select Departure Airport
Select: DEPARTURE then DEPARTING RNWY per wind direction.
Select: DEPARTURE desired on left
Select: *VIA on right side.
Select: INSERT
IF DESIRED, Enter ARRIVAL STAR & APPROACH
Select: DESTINATION AP then ARRIVAL on top right then
Select: ILS Landing Runway per Arrival AP Winds.
Select: ARRIVAL desired on left then VIA on left then TRANSITION on right.
Select: INSERT

Select PERF PAGE then enter FLEX TO TEMP. (Outside Temp)


NOTE: To get a rough idea of Fahrenheit from Celsius, I DOUBLE the C temp and add 30.
Select FLAPS/THS ie: 1/
Select: TRANSITION ALTITUDE (USA = FL180 or 18,000 ft.)
Select: V1, V2, V3 (double click each)

CTRL-2 – AP Panel
Select PLAN on right PFD and range then turn ON Flight Director (FD)

ATC Window
Tune departure airport Clearance Delivery
Contact Clearance Delivery
Request IFR flight plan
Acknowledge your clearance - DEP RNWAY, CLIMB TO Altitude and SQUAWK

CTRL-2 – AP Panel
Enter CLIMB TO Altitude and pull button OUT

CTRL-6 – Radio Panel


CLR-CLR – enter SQWAK code in transponder
Set TCAS to ON & TA
Set RADAR MODE to WX-T & PWS to ON
CTRL-8 – Overhead Panel
START APU:
Select: APU MASTER SW (Center/upper)
Select: APU START - Wait for APU FLAP OPEN on upper ECAM

CTRL-8 – Overhead Panel


Select: APU BLEED then EXT PWR
Select: All FUEL PUMPS ON (Upper Panel)
Select: BEACON, SEATBELT & NO SMOKING signs ON
LOCK Cockpit Door

CTRL-0 - FlyPad
Call PUSHBACK Tug
Release Parking Brake
Start Pushback – Select: direction of push
Stop pushback – release tug
Set parking brake

CTRL-6 – Throttles
IGN/START (Turn to right) then MASTER 2 below throttles to ON
Ensure GEN 2 light is OFF (Upper Panel)
Start Engine #2
Ensure GEN 1 light is OFF
Start Engine #1
Engine Mode to NORMAL

CTRL-8 – Overhead Panel


Select: APU BLEED off and APU MASTER SW off
Select: NOSE Light set to: TAXI
Select: STROBES ON

CTRL-3 – ECAM
Select: Auto Brake set to: MAX
CHRONO On prior to wheels rolling.

CTRL-7 – Center Console


CTRL-+ - Arm Speed Brake / Ground Spoilers
Select: Flaps to T/O (1)
Flight Control Check – watch lower ECAM
TAXI:
Contact GROUND for TAXI clearance
Note: Taxiway route to runway
Acknowledge Taxi clearance
Release Parking Brake
Turn ON Taxi lights
Taxi to Departure RWY – HOLD SHORT
Contact TOWER – Request Takeoff Clearance
Acknowledge Takeoff Clearance
Reset QNH as per Tower’s Instruction
Turn OFF Taxi lights

DEPARTURE:
Line up
Advance THROTTLES to 50%
Advance THROTTLES to FLX
Rotate at V2
Wait for Positive Rate of climb
Gear UP past runway threshold
FLAPS to 0
CTRL-- - Disarm Speed Brake/Ground Spoilers
Retard Throttles to CL detent
Engage AP1
