with cast bronze pressure fittings, ANSI B16.18; 15 percent silver-content silver brazed
joints 1250-degree F melting point minimum.

D. VALVES

1. Shutoff Valves: 3-part ball valve with stainless steel and ball, Teflon seat and screwed ends.
Valves shall be suitable for installation in compressed air systems: “#T-595 Y-66” by NIBCO.

2. Pressure Regulating Valves: Heavy duty, corrosion resistant zinc die-cast body, nylon
reinforced Buna N diaphragms and seals, wheel handle knob regulation, inlet and outlet
matching line size, 250 psig maximum inlet pressure, 0 degrees F to 200 degrees F operating
temperature, high impact ABS body, regulation from 5 to 125 psig; Model “27364-000 – 1-
inch, Model 27354-000 – ¾ inch” by ARO Heavy Duty Series Air Regulators.

E. SCROLL TYPE AIR COMPRESSORS – OIL FREE

1. System Design: The laboratory air system shall be of a single point connection, base
mounted design model Beacon Medaes BPS-3D-S80 consisting of two compressor modules,
two motors, duplexed refrigerated drying system, duplexed line filters and regulators, integral
pre-wired control panel and corrosion resistant air receiver. The complete package shall be
pre-wired, pre-piped, with single point connections for electrical, intake air, discharge air, and

a. The compressors shall be continuous duty rated scroll types with sealed bearings. The
design shall be single stage, air-cooled, consisting of: one fixed and one orbiting scroll
sealed with PTFE tip seals between the scroll halves and rated for 120 psig discharge
pressure. The scrolls shall be protected from dust or contamination with a two part face
seal. Orbiting bearings shall be grease filled and permanently sealed type requiring no
lubrication at any time. The drive bearing shall be grease filled and lip sealed with a
maintenance interval of not less that 10,000 hours. The scroll case shall be constructed
of diecast aluminum. Maximum heat dissipation shall be achieved through an integral
cooling fan and air ducting. The compressors shall be v-belt driven and protected by an
OSHA approved totally enclosed belt guard. A sliding motor mounting base that is fully
adjustable with one adjusting screw shall achieve belt tensioning. The motor shall be a
3HP NEMA rated, open drip proof, 3600 rpm, with 1.15 service factor suitable for 460V
