Selection of Qualified Driver/Operator


Driver of the truck mixer should meet the following Qualifications.

• A valid driving license.


• Good Health.
• Eye sight above 0.7, with out color blindness.
• Audition should meet the requirement of
working Conditions.
• Be familiar with the operation of the water
supply and the operating system.
• Know how about the escaping approaches during
Accident & Emergencies.
• Undergone effective Training on Operation &
Basic Maintenance.
• Need to be equipped and maintain personal
protective equipment's.
• Should not wear loose cloths, so as to avoid
being trapped in any rotating part.

Precaution before Operation


Read the instructions carefully

• Carry out circle Check, before


starting the vehicle for any
leakages, damages, hanging
wires etc.
• After starting the vehicle check
brakes, check individual
functions, check for any
abnormal sounds etc.
• If you observe any problem
rectify it or make necessary
action in order to solve the
problem.

Precautions during Operation Overloading is


It is prohibited and danger to carry any people on the ladder
and platform when the truck is on the way of transportation. prohibited

Precautions During Parking

• Park the vehicle in a Safe location.


• During charging & discharging operation apply the parking brake.
• When the truck is parked in a slope, wedge support should be
provided on the wheels. In order to prevent the truck from moving.

Precautions before switching off the Engine

• Make sure drum is not rotating. Allow the engine to run for 3 to 5
min and throttle it for 2- 3 times before shut off.
• Avoid the engine from immediate shut off at a high temperature.
• Shutting down the engine immediately will effect the service life
of the vehicle.

PRECAUTIONS DURING CLEANING OF DRUM MIXERS.
• At the end of each trip after discharging the
concrete at site make sure your drum is cleaned
with water.
• Cleaned the internal lobes of the drum with
pressurized water in order to detach the
concrete.
• During Return trip from the site to plant fill
partial amount of water and drain it at the plant
in order to make sure the drum is clean and
ready for next operation.
• When cleaning inside the drum use the drum
inspection plate to access the inside area of the
drum, while doing this make sure that the
vehicle is in off condition and the keys are
secured.
• Place a caution board stating “Men working”
during such cleaning activities in drum.
• Use proper personal protection equipment's
while doing so.

• On Road(Black top) Concrete fully loaded Maximum driving speed is 60 -70 km/hour.
• Off Road(Graded) Concrete fully loaded Maximum driving speed is 30 - 40 km/hour.
• Drum Maximum Speed 2 - 3 RPM.
• While turning speed should be reduced to 10 -20 km/hours.
• 1 cubic meter concrete maximum weighs 2400 Kilograms.
• So if you have 9 cubic meter drum it will be 2400 X 9 CBM= 21600 kilograms or 21.6 Tons load.
