 Course Scope: An introduction to the general topic of e- learning "how people learn
at distance" (this course is an overview of e-learning and current practices)

 Course Content
Academic Educational Websites
Some institutions have developed their own online educational resources.
These are basically designed websites that are put forward to suit a particular audience.
They are set often on a particular subject or theme of instruction.
They are much like interactive materials, including audio, video and virtual
graphics. They are set in a way to provide activities and quizzes to aid learning. They can
make learning more interesting and help learners to conceive a visual approach to the
learning situations. They are often based on a particular resource such as digital materials.
These sites can also contain the discussion board elements of a VLE

Course Management System (CMS) software

Some sites also contain an area for instructors, giving advice on how to use the
resources for particular age groups and curricula. They include printable material to
accompany the web site and to use in class. These Course Management System (CMS)
software allow instructors to design and deliver their courses within a flexible framework.
They offer functionality which allows instructors to deliver course content, enable
communications, and conduct evaluations. The most common tools offered by CMS
