Final-OB Project OB

Organizational project tutorial

Project description: Groups of five are required to prepare a written project report and deliver a
15 minutes, informative presentations on any chosen topic/concept related to Organization
Behavior course.

The purpose of the project is to give your team an opportunity to apply what has been learned in
the course (through course lectures, readings, and discussions) to issues occurring in an
organization of your team's choice. Thus, your choice shall be of a recent study of any company
national or multinational and shall allow you as a group to explore/apply Organizational
Behavior theories and issues and examine the outcomes/responses to those issues.

Your goal is to diagnose the mechanisms that are related to the OB concept/ issue of concern in
the organization. Initially, you may notice many symptoms (for instance, high turnover,
seemingly low morale, low commitment, motivation etc.), but your task is to get to the
underlying reason for these symptoms. And beware, sometimes the initial symptoms we think we
see are not what they appear to be.

Students can go for primary study or secondary study for the project.

The following is the list of suggested guidelines for the group to follow and successfully
complete the group project report as part of the overall assessment of Organizational Behavior
course.

PART 1 : Executive Summary A short section that summarizes your report in such a way that
readers can rapidly become acquainted with a large body of material without having to read it all.

PART 2 : Introduction of the topic

Describe the company’s background? (Make this brief) o Give the organizational structure and
various departments of the organizationt o Identify a topic/concept that the group is going to
examine and give an overview of the topic/concept using organization behavior theories and
perspectives. o Internal Organisation Environment: analysis of how organization culture
influence individual and team behavior and performance o Power Culture o Role Culture o Task
Culture o Person Culture: o Including the group’s rationale (reasons for choosing the topic) and
relevant information on the organization’s plot etc. should be provided; this can be a summary
and should not exceed one page in length.

PART 3: Analysis of the selected topic/concept o Identify the issues/problems faced by the
organization concerning the topic (in case an issue is chosen related to OB) or What is/are the
various elements, functions and importance of the concept that are practiced by the organization
(if topic that is not a problem is chosen)?

o What change theories apply to the company you have chosen. How the company is responding
to globalization in organizational behavior practices. Discuss the best practices of the
organization related to OB.

o What course concepts can be applied to understand the reason of the chosen topic?

•Motivation•Job satisfaction PART 4 : Conclusion and Recommendations oThe conclusion

allows you to have the final say on the issues/concept you have raised in your project, to
synthesize your thoughts, to demonstrate the importance of your ideas, and to propel your reader
to a new view of the subject. It is also your opportunity to make a good final impression and to
end on a positive note. o What recommendations can you offer to help improve organizational
functioning? Givean implementation plan.PART 5 : Referencing The project should include a
bibliographical list of references used by the group throughout thetasks including lecture
materials and video clips. PART 6 : Group Reflection The final task of the project involves the
group revisiting their work at each stage of the project, reflecting on their experience of
completing each part from the perspective of the group. PART 7 : Group presentation •The
presentation should provide a description/examination of a recent topic/case onchange and
must include critical analysis/opinion by the group. In other words, yourpresentation should
present what’s in you written report. •Groups are encouraged to develop creative presentational
strategies that demonstrategroup collaboration and adequate preparation. General Guidelines
•A suggested page guideline should be (1” margins, 12-point font) and should notexceed a
maximum of 15 pages. If your project ranges between 7-10 pages (excludinga cover page, table
of content pages and reference pages), this is satisfactory. •Role and responsibility of Each

indirectly demonstrate the group’s analytical and behavioral skills in how they go about choosing
their case. The project content should contain any of the following aspects of organization’s
behavior. - Perception - Attitude - Organization Culture - Motivation - Job satisfaction
