Lead BackEnd Developer (Python) - JobSearch

What are we looking for?

We are looking for candidates who will cover the Lead Backend developer profile, focused
on applying modern design patterns and methodologies to deliver simple, and highly
scalable services. Squadmakers is seeking Top backend developers to join our team who
are passionate about working on teams that solve interesting, large-scale problems at a
rapid pace. This role will contribute heavily to the buildout and iteration of squadmakers'
existing and emerging platform, powering an ever-expanding set of product offerings.
We are being tasked with delivering a world class groundbreaking development experience
through agile team collaboration: Squads. This role will work as part of an overall
development team that leverages agile methodology in collocated/ remote work
environment.

Your day to day will consist of:

● Leading by example for other members of the team as a dedicated, passionate, and
flexible developer who is constantly looking for the ideal solution to a problem
● Coding microservices (API REST based) in Python using the right frameworks and
QA procedures in a TDD process.
● Be heavily involved in architectural decisions and the buildout of squadmakers' new,
service-oriented platform and customer products
● Collaborate on the definition of technical solutions and architectures
● Work collaboratively with multiple agile teams to help deliver end-to-end products
and features, seeing them through from conception to delivery
● Provide technical guidance and help mentor engineering, QA, operations, and
product staff to deliver the best possible solutions for the company
● Validate code is built as designed during projects (according to QA brand standards,
style guides and pattern libraries).
● Review artifacts and deliverables from peer developers and designers to ensure they
accurately represent the Squadmakers coding standards
● Contribute to a cross-functional agile team (Squad) developing and maintaining
products for us or some of the biggest names in the industry
● Ability to travel/ commute to client locations to deliver professional services as
needed.

What do we need?

Professional Experience
● 4+ years direct, work experience as a Backend developer
● 2-3 years of experience work experience with python and coding API REST services,
supporting systems, and 3rd party vendor integrations
● Experience with backend frameworks (fastapi, flask, …)
● Experience working in and advocating for agile environments

Technical Skills:
● Hands-on experience with Python
● Extensive experience working with SQL and relational databases, ORMs and NoSQL
repositories to interact with them
● GIT, Github or Gitlab
● RESTful APIs with Swagger/OpenAPI specifications
● Experience writing unit tests
● Experience with queueing systems (Celery, Rabbitmq, Kafka, SQS, Pub/Sub, etc)
● Familiar with software security best practices
● Fluent in software fundamentals including software design, backend infrastructure,
code modularity and maintainability.
● Experience building applications and working with underlying systems that work
within fully containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) a plus
● Exposure and understanding of general cloud concepts and technologies (AWS,
Azure, GCP, VMware or similar)
● Fluent in Spanish and English (reading and writing).

Valuable experience in:


● ELK, Casandra, REDIS
● Payment providers
● IoT platforms and protocols
● Smart Contracts (Solidity, Rust)
● Node.js experience
