During a session of the Beer Game supply chain simulation: The participants experienced frustration as other players were unable to deliver orders or ordered too much. The total supply chain costs were €370,730 and at least one stakeholder had backlog for 100% of the session time, showing the difficulties in matching supply and demand. Thank you for playing !

In large distribution networks it isn't easy to make supply meet demand.

During this session you may have felt frustrated as other players weren't able to deliver, or ordered too much.

The most important part of this game is to analyse the mechanisms behind those difficulties, and how we can overcome them.

Global results
Cost : throughout the session your supply-chain required €370,730.

Service level : during 35 weeks at least one of the stakeholders had backlog. That's 100% of the session time.

Good point however : the retailer was never out of stock, so your beers were always available for sale.
Variability : the biggest order was sent by the wholesaler on week 20 : 99pcs.
