Good morning, Ma’am Emy. I am Julius and today, I want to talk about
photoshop and canva. You might already familiar with these two software as a
graphic designer major. Indeed, both are infamous kinds of software you’re
using for all sorts of design needs. But for those who aren’t as familiar within
the graphic design world, they’re seem pretty unknown. So today, I’ll be talking
about their similarities and contrast, their special feature respectably, as well as
more other stuff along the way.
Photoshop is a flagship propietary product made by Adobe. It is a raster-based
manipulation software that are used for things like photo editing, post-
production of some kind of render, as well as digital painting. Photoshop are
considered to be an Industry standard amongst the professonals, business
setting, and amateurs. Photoshop, along with the rest of the package on their
Creative Cloud offer, is getting annual update or revision for the upcoming
version.
Canva on the other hand is a product originating from Canva Inc. It is a
platform software that are used for broad usage of design. Canva mainly
focused on more user-friendly approach with heavy reliance on templates.
Both Photoshop and Canva are propietary software, meaning that you can’t
modify and have some degree of rights reserved. It just the difference Canva is
free and you can freely share canva document link to another person. Both of
these software are relies on subscription business model. While Adobe also
include other software in one single package along with Photoshop, Canva
premium is offered monthly although basic usage is generally free.
Photoshop is a specialty when it comes to photo manipulation, Basic 2d
animation, and digital drawing or painting. You can use some of its useful
feature such as content aware fill, filters, neural filter, as well as wide range of
pre made brushes and modifications to suit your need. Meanwhile, Canva is
more suited for casual users or small business owner to create their own flyer or
logo. They’re have much more narrow learning curve for most people to create
document, presentation, mock-up, or logo.
Photoshop are much more powerful compared to Canva. While they have much
wider learning curve for most amateurs, the flexibility offered by Photoshop is
what makes it is the best on Graphic design software. It is utilized the best with
large enterprises with professional setting.
