PROGRAM TITLE LAC Session on Integration Of ICT Into The Teaching-Learning Process

In line with the DepEd Order 78, s.2010 Guidelines on the Implementation of the DepEd Computerization
Program (DCP) to enhance the teaching-learning process and meet the challenges of the 21 st century using the
Open Educational Resources (OER) program maximizing the DCP packages. Integration of Information and
Communication Technologies (ICT) into teaching and learning process is a growing field which has variety of
definitions according to different points of view. A very common view asserts that application of ICT processes
Background and Rationale
should be presented in an integrated way as well as concrete model need to develop for the teachers in order for
the integration process to improve student’s learning. Based on the premise that “The integration process should
strengthen learning of students” there was a need to present an integrated point of view in the application of these
processes and to develop some concrete examples for teachers.

Target Competencies
- All participants will be able to gain new knowledge in Integrating ICT in their lessons.

Terminal Objective:
Objectives -Engage teacher’s literacy in ICT to upgrade and retool their knowledge in the fast-growing technology;
-Ensure the appropriate use and / access of OER that can contribute to their teaching works; and
-appreciate the importance of ICT in teaching-learning process through ICT integration like OER.

GOAL
Surigao del Sur Division provides timely and appropriate professional program through promoting the culture of research to attune the
teachers to the global contour of providing the learners with holistic academic thinking, behavioral and technical skills that are aligned in the
national and international academic standards. This is also pursuant to Deped Order No. 39, series 2016 on the Adoption of the Basic Education
Research Agenda which aims to build on gains from new research, generate new knowledge on the different priority areas on relevant education

issues. To promote an environment of evidence-based decision-making, DepEd has made strides in instituting research and its utilization in policy
and program development. DO. No. 13, s. 2015 established a systematic policy and program development process in the Department, promoting
evidence-based policy formulation supported by research studies. To provide financial support to the conduct of research in the field, DO No. 43,
s. 2015 and DO No. 4, s. 2016 set guidelines on the use of the Basic Education Research Fund (BERF). This policy outlined a clear framework for
the implementation of a grant-awarding facility that had been underutilized since the issuance of DO No. 24, s. 2010 which originally made such
grants available. To put focus on these research initiatives, DO No 39, s. 2016 promulgated the Basic Education Research Agenda, which makes
known the research priorities of the Department across four themes (Teaching and Learning, Child Protection, Human Resource Development, and
Governance) and three cross-cutting themes (Gender and Development, Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, and Inclusive Education.
OBJECTIVES:
a. Promotion and support of fundamental or basic research for the continuing improvement of the research capability of teachers and
administrators;
b. Foster linkages with local, national and international research organizations for enhanced cooperation in the development and sharing of
information, researches, results;
c. Provide advice on problems and issues of common interest among researchers/teachers;
d. Provide an avenue for the presentation, deliberation and publication of the researches; and
e. Promotion of the culture of research to all public and private sectors.
