Introduction: 
Ratan Tata is a well-known businessman in India and the world. His full
name is Naval Ratan Tata. On the strength of his hard work and
dedication, he has expanded his business not only in India but in many
countries of the world. Many types of companies are operated by Tata
Group in India such as Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Tata Power, Tata
Consultancy Services, Tata Tea, Tata Chemicals, Indian Hotels, Tata
Teleservices, etc. Ratan Tata is said to have made many loss-making
companies profitable through his business policy. Ratan Tata is a source of
inspiration for us.

Ratan Tata Born and Family: 


He was born on December 28, 1937, in Surat, India. His father's name was
Naval Hormusji Tata and his mother's name was Sonu Tata. His parents
separated when he was 10 years old. He was raised by his grandmother.
His grandfather's name was Jamshedji Tata, he is considered the founder
of the Tata Group. Naval Tata was the adopted son of Jamshedji Tata's
younger son Ratan ji Tata. His uncle's name is J.R.D. It's Tata. Ratan Tata
has a brother, Jimmy, and a half-brother, Noel Tata.
Ratan Tata's Education: 
His early education was completed at Campion School, for further studies
he went to the USA, where he did his BS in Cornell University
Architecture, after which he joined Harvard Business School where he
earned a degree in Advanced Management.

Ratan Tata's career: 


Ratan Tata worked briefly at Jones & Emmons in Los Angeles, California
before returning to India. His intention was to settle in California,
America, but when his grandmother's health deteriorated in India, he had
to come to India and after coming to India, he worked with IBM. But his
uncle JRD Tata did not like that the son of his house should work in
another company.
He offered to work at Tata Steel and this is where his career started.
Started working with Tata Steel in 1961. In the initial days, he used to
work in the furnace as a laborer and slept on the ground. After that, he
gradually joined other companies of Tata Group.
In 1971, he was elected as the Director-in-Charge of the National Radio
and Electronics Company (Nelco). In 1981, he was appointed the
chairman of the company, at that time the company was running at loss.
He brought the company from loss to profit through his hard work and
dedication. In 1991, he was declared the successor of the company. After
that, the Tata Group reached a new height in the business world.
Ratan Tata issued public issues of Tata Consulting Company and got Tata
Motors Company listed in the youth stock market of America. The first car
was manufactured by Tata Motors in 1998 and was named Indica. After
this, other cars were also launched by the company in the market like
Tetley, Jaguar Land Rover, etc. On 28 December 2012, Ratan Tata
resigned from all posts in the Tata Group and was replaced by Cyrus
Mistry, the Executive Chairman of the Tata Group.

However, due to some reasons, he was fired from the company, and then
Ratan Tata became the executive chairman of the company. After this, in
2017 this same Natarajan was made the company's president, today Ratan
Tata may have retired from the company but he is always active in the
company's work.

Ratan Tata has been awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2000, and the Padma
Vibhushan Award in 2008, for his significant contribution to the field of

Apart from this, many types of charitable trusts are run by the Tata
company. When the Corona epidemic came to India, a donation of ₹ 500
crores was made by the Tata Group to the Prime Minister's PM Cares
Fund.
