Directions: Discuss the following questions logically and comprehensively. Be sure that your answer is
supported by the learning theories to provide a basis for better understanding and critical analysis.
1. The internet is becoming more accessible across the country. As internet access becomes more
available, how is it true that more students will have a chance at a quality education?
In my point view and based on my research, In many ways it is difficult to discuss in many aspect of
contemporary society without considering the internet. Many student’s lives are saturated so
thoroughly with digital technology that the once obvious distinction between either online or offline
now fails to do justice to a situation where the internet is implicitly always on. Indeed , it is often
observed that younger generations are unable to talk about internet as a discrete entity. Instead, online
practices have been part of young peoples lives.
Based on the E-Learning theory that belongs to the grand theory of Connectivism because it emphasizes
how technologies can be used and designed to create new learning opportunities and to promote
effective learning.
2. How can the teachers make the complex work of teaching visible?
For me as an educator it is important for being a competent teacher for the process of student well
development in ensuring quality learning. Teacher’s competencies affect our values, behaviors,
communication, aims and practices in school and also our support professional development and
curricular studies. Thus, the discussion on teachers' competencies to improve the teaching-learning
process in school is of great importance.
To improve teacher’s competence be strengthened through the means of continuing education, peer
support, mentoring and job guidance, and by developing the entire working community. Developing the
competence of the teaching staff and having them committed to the development are central issues in
order to produce actual changes.
3. What are your plans to begin teaching in the physical classroom after being exposed to different
teaching modalities?
I decided to use outside the classroom or in an open area (school gymn), as I handled my PE class .
Learning outside the classroom supports the development of healthy and active lifestyle by offering my
students opportunities for physical activity, freedom and movement, and promoting a sense of well-
being.
4. How can the teachers lead their students to feel their worth and effort?
As teachers we have an important role in nurturing students ‘ sense of belonging. If a student considers
their teacher to be caring and accepting, they’re more likely to adopt the academic and social values of
their teacher. This can influence how students feel about school work and how much (or how little) they
value it.
One of the best ways to capture the attention of the students is to be creative and to think outside the
box. If we can make each lesson exciting our students can capture our attention and we can help
maximize their results. Implementing things like role-playing, debates, and games can all be fun ways to
keep our students engaged for future lessons.
A positive school culture fundamentally changes the way different components of a successful school
work together to create change. A school that promotes positive action and rejects poor behaviors. It
takes diligence, persistence and incredible determination to build a culture. But the strength of a
culture is very hard to break. Just as its hard to break out of a bad culture, a good culture stands strong.
The work you put into building a positive culture now will reap benefits for you and your community for
years to come. Let’s begin with some concrete actions you can take to build a better culture.
Strong relationships with the school head, teachers, and students as well as to the parents are need to
be a priority for the whole school. How do you do it? Teachers need to have time to talk to their
students in and out of the classroom. Parents should be involved in the process too with clear two-way
communication. Behavior at home influences behavior in the classroom. The goal should be for every
adult in the building to maintain a high rate of positive interactions with students. Positive behaviors
breed a positive culture.
6. The present is always perfect. This law focuses on the idea that there are always things you can do to
improve the present moment. On this note, how can the teachers find ways to make the present
moment the best that it can be in spite of many challenges in their personal and professional lives?
As educator, making mistakes is a guarantee in life. We can’t avoid them entirely, no matter what
we do. What matters more than any blunder or its magnitude is our response afterward. Most, if
not all, of our mistakes, can be excellent learning opportunities. In fact learning is failure is often
the key to success. By getting things wrong, we ’ll improve our skills and grow in various ways.
Teaching has one one of the most noble and praise worthy professions that are out there. But we
teachers today do face a lot of challenges.
Teachers have to deal with issues such as problem students, insufficient funding and a whole host of
other issues within the realms of the classroom. Teachers need to be able to face these problems head
on if they want to make sure that they are making the best use of the school year.
Creating a classroom community and culture remain another necessary aspect when fostering a safe
learning environment. Students need to understand what they have in common with their fellow
learners in the classroom. It is the teacher's job to create this community so all students will get along
and celebrate one another's differences. Strong classroom communities can form in a variety of ways.
Throughout daily activities the students should be part of a collaborative learning effort, sharing their
strengths and encouraging each other. The teacher also may introduce a number of jobs or
responsibilities students need to complete in order to maintain the physical classroom. This shows
students that they need to count on one another, and it keeps students accountable for their own
learning environment as well. Classroom jokes, traditions and pets are other ways to build a strong
community. When students enjoy each other's company, they are more likely to be accepting and feel
safe in the environment.
7. How and why is it important to teach cultural awareness and diversity in school?
Cultural awareness can help you break down cultural barriers and build bridges, by learning how to
appreciate and respect those who are different from you. As you come to understand more about
yourself and your own culture, you'll learn how to relate better to individuals from different cultural
backgrounds.
Fostering inclusion and awareness around multicultural education and taking a culturally responsive
approach to teaching benefits all students. Not only does creating greater multicultural awareness and
inclusion help students with different backgrounds and needs succeed, but it encourages acceptance
and helps prepare students to thrive in an exponentially diverse world.
8. How can the school leaders encourage the teachers to view the school as an effective incubator of
learning, where students are not only educated but challenged, nurtured and encouraged?
The school leaders is responsible for the effective general management of the School, for ensuring the
provision of academic leadership and strategic vision, and for the quality of the student experience.
Educational leaders have the knowledge and ability to promote the success of all students by managing
the organization, operations, and resources in a way that promotes a safe, efficient, and effective
learning environment.
Having a supportive school leaders can make all the difference for a teacher. Teachers want to know
that their principal/school head has their best interests in mind. One of the main duties of a principal is
to provide ongoing, collaborative teacher support. The relationship between a teacher and a principal
has to be built on a foundation of trust. This type of relationship takes a lot of time to build. Principals
must slowly cultivate these relationships while taking the time to get to know each teacher's strength
and weaknesses.
Strong relationships with the school leaders and teachers can dramatically enhance students' level of
motivation and therefore promote learning. Students who have access to more strong relationships are
more academically engaged, have stronger social skills, and experience more positive behavior.
10. Write a 500-word essay about this reflective thought: “Why do we come to school?”
Education is one of the most important tools in our modern society. This is because education enables
an individual to transform from an unskilled individual to a highly productive individual that can
contribute to society. From the perspective of students, education can either be enjoyable or tedious.
Regardless, it is important for their future, as well as the future of society. Moreover, education ensures
that an individual is capable of earning a livelihood. This is done by imparting basic and essential skills
which can be useful from a professional perspective.
We cannot determine or calculate the importance of schooling based only on monetary success and
degrees. Schools are also essential for developing a child’s personality and teaching him/her how to
handle real-life challenges.
A school is a place where we learn about the importance of education in life. The wide range of subjects
allows us to learn different languages and receive knowledge about other parts of the world. It also
gives young minds a chance to narrow down which subject they like the most and find their passion in
life.
School is the foremost fountain of knowledge children are exposed to. It gives a chance for them to
acquire knowledge on various fields of education such as people, literature, history, mathematics,
politics, and other numerous subjects.
School is the first avenue of socialising for a child. Up till then, parents and immediate family members
are the only people the child has human interactions with. And familiarity is a breeding ground of
stagnancy. With schools, children are exposed not only to new ideas but also to same aged compatriots.
This instills sociable practices such as empathy, friendship, participation, assistance which turn out to be
important in their adulthood.
Earlier, schools were considered as places to learn events in history chapter, solve tough mathematical
problems or recite poems and sonnets. In the current educational scenario, a child learns to go beyond
the traditional way of rote learning. They are taught to develop a mind of their own and through the
flexible curriculum, curiosity is promoted. The child is freed from the shackles of mental blocks and lets
his/her imagination run its course. Importance of imagination is stressed upon extensively. Play
enactions and an encompassing curriculum lead to a well-developed cognitive system.
Life is also about learning, apart from living. While we can learn to a certain extent from our parents,
they tend to be unilateral. At school, children are exposed to various sources from whom they can
imbibe immense knowledge, instrumental for their development. Hence school is necessary for children
to inculcate the workings of life” Education forms the foundation of any society. It is responsible for the
economic, social, and political growth and development of society in general. The thread of the growth
of society depends upon the quality of education that is being imparted. So schools play an important
role in moulding a nation’s future by facilitating all round development of its future citizens.
