1. Why did you immediately suspect that this particular account is a peddler of fake or
distorted history? 

VinCentiments was already known page back when I was still in high school. It is famous
for its ‘reality’ skits. Darryl Yap, a writer by training who has only recently branched out
into film directing, is the brains behind VinCentiments. Darryl, a 31-year-old artist from
Olongapo City, Zambales, founded SaWakas, an independent theater company that
would stage performances ranging from one-act plays to adaptations of films like Ricky
Lee's Himala. SaWakas is a collection of theater enthusiasts. The director claims that five
hours after posting ‘Jowable’ at 2 a.m., it had already received 1 million views. The
page's following, which was only 2,000 people the previous night, suddenly grew to
120,000.

The uncensored short stories in Vincentiments are renowned for being filled with intense
fury and injustice. Its biggest break is the VIVA-produced Jowable series, which has seen
enormous success in mainstream cinema. However, they travel a perilous and precarious
storytelling that only certain viewers glorify, even while it revels in the strong and
unapologetic truths that they claim to be the film's objective. They have always generated
controversy as a result. Slice-of-life and funny short films, which you either love or
detest, are a specialty of the production company VinCentiments. The next short film
takes things a step further, taking a darker, more nuanced approach to issues like potential
child rape and false charges that caused an accuser's story to fall apart. Another thing
about VinCentiments is that it is known for historical revisionism that did not really take
place and is biased to a certain party.
2. Kindly cite a portion of its content and explain why this post is a classic case of fake or
distorted history?

The reason why this certain content is posted as fake or distorted history is because the
film, Maid in Malacañang, was already a controversial because even if he was called out
for directing this film he continued to ignore these and said that this is his own experience
even if still wasn’t even alive when it took place. He was also called out for making up
things even if there are already scripts that states what really has happened during the
Marcos regime. Director-writer Darryl Yap received bashing for the scene in Maid in
Malacañang in which "Cory" was playing mahjong with the nuns after a phone
conversation. Actress Giselle Sanchez was finally revealed to be the one who played the
character of former President Cory Aquino. Get them out of the Philippines" and went
back to playing mahjong circulated on social media.

In response to calls for a boycott of the contentious film, "Maid in Malacañang " writer
and director Darryl Yap issued a statement. Screenshots from the film that showed actress
Giselle Santos as the late president Cory Aquino playing mahjong with three nuns
sparked a response from the Carmelite sisters.
