JKR-Mackintosh Probe Chart

This chart shows the relationship between allowable bearing capacity in tons per square foot and Mackintosh probe value blows per foot. As the Mackintosh probe value increases from 0 to 100 blows per foot, the allowable bearing capacity increases from 1 to 4 tons per square foot. The chart can be used to determine the allowable bearing capacity based on the Mackintosh probe value at a site.
