Banning Five Day Sequence

This one-week lesson plan focuses on developing phonological and phonemic awareness as well as phonics and sight word recognition skills. Each day targets a different skill area and includes various hands-on activities and online resources. On Mondays the focus is on phonological awareness with an onset and rhyme dice rolling game. Tuesdays work on beginning sounds with a mail sorting activity. Wednesday substitutes sounds in words using puppets. Thursday emphasizes rhyming using dust bunny puppets. Fridays target syllables using a fidget popper. The plan also incorporates daily phonemic awareness and phonics/sight word activities including songs, games, worksheets and center ideas.
