small moment or a slim section of your life.

The 6 word memoir, though, challenges you to think of your life, then say it in 6
words. Here are some examples:

With a partner, go over the examples. Then discuss: What is your favorite? What
do you think is the meaning/message behind this short memoir? What can you
infer about this person? What do you think prompted the writer to create this
memoir? And lastly, is it possible to convey your personality in only 6 words?

TASK
Your memoir must: contain exactly 6 words and be written in correct or appropriate
spelling, grammar, capitalization and punctuation.

Remember:
Remember:

BE CONCISE. Concise writing expresses a lot in a few words. If you write concisely, you
use few words to clearly convey your idea.

ideas:

It does not have to be only one sentence.

You can focus on the most significant part of your life so far.

You can focus on your life right now.

You can phrase it as a question.

You can try to describe your personality/values.

You can describe your hobbies.

You can include strong verbs, adjectives, or specific nouns.

The goal is for your reader (and your class!) to get
