 Experiment 04: Impact test and Bursting pressure test


1. What is impact IZOD test? How is it done?
2. Draw the 2D sketch of IZOD test and label relevant angles.
3. Write down some practical examples of impact load
4. Why V-Notch is cut in the PVC strip specimen for IZOD test? What is the angle of
notch?
5. What is bursting pressure?
6. What are the reasons of leakage instead of bursting the pipe at a pressure of 600-650
psi?
