DAY 2:
INITIAL ACTIVITY
We are Here as One
Good Day LNHSians, welcome to the second day of our
journey. How are you today? I hope you are fine and eager to
catch our second day. Before we begin, let us look back to the
things you already accomplished. Yesterday, you were able to
meet everyone including my friends and you also gathered
answers from the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) for the
school year 2022 – 2023. Today, we will have our initial
activity – a jumpstart for the rest of the activities for the
week.

As a student like you, I know that we are not that ready yet for the opening of
classes this year. Let’s take one step at a time, eventually we will just get used to many
changes that are coming our way. Like what they said: CHANGE is the only permanent
thing in the world. Just like you, I am also in the process of preparing myself. May this
module help us to adapt to the status quo of life in the new normal.

By the way, for the benefit of Sissy and other Grade 11 students who are new in
the Senior High School setting, I would like to share with you a little knowledge about
LNHS SHS department. The school offers three (3) Track Offerings: (1) Academic, (2)
Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL), and (3) Arts and Design. Academic track is divided
into four (4) strands namely: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics
(STEM), Accounting, Business, and Management (ABM), Humanities and Social Sciences
(HUMSS), and General Academics Strand (GAS).

For TVL, the school offers three (3) strands: Home Economics (HE) with
specializations on Bread and Pastry Production – Cookery – Food and Beverages Services
(BPP-C-FBS), Beauty and Nail Care – Hairdressing – Wellness Massage (BNC,H,WM), and
Dress Making/Tailoring (DMT); Industrial Arts (IA) with specializations on Electronics
Products Assembly and Servicing (EPAS), and Electrical Installation and Maintenance
(EIM); and Information Communications Technology (ICT) with specialization on
Computer Systems Servicing (CSS).

That’s it! At least, you already know where your strands and specializations belong
to. Each of them was designed to cater students’ intelligence, talents, and skills. No
course offering is inferior to another, everyone has a special skill to be cultivated and a
special place in the career world. Some would proceed to higher education after college.
Some would prefer applying a job already. Others may want to explore on
entrepreneurship while some would want to continue in improving Middle Level Skills
Development. All of these are important parts of the puzzle. So, as early as now, let’s
stop the toxic culture of comparing between and among the different tracks, strands, and
specializations.

I guess we are already settled on this matter. Let us now begin preparing
ourselves for the meat of this day’s activities. Using the emojis below, share with us your

It is important that we start our day with a simple Feelings Check Activity.
Whatever we presently feel must be recognized. It is important because it will help us
monitor our self and how we respond to our environment. May it be a positive or negative
emotion, note that these are only temporary, and we can always choose our own
emotions.

It is also important to know that you are not alone in facing life’s challenges. We
– Nathan, Henry, and Sissy – together with your parents, family members, friends,
schoolmates, and even your adviser, are all here to be with you in these struggles. Let
us face this altogether. We’re together with one goal and together we will thrive. Let’s
continue striving in the midst of this crisis. Remember, We are Here as One!
