Introduction MDESIGN 2018

MDESIGN is a family of software applications and libraries for technology, construction and design in mechanical, vehicle and plant
engineering. MDESIGN consists of the workplace environment MDESIGN explorer and extensive calculation libraries, such as MDE-
SIGN mechanical for machine element design and MDESIGN gearbox for gearbox analysis. Beyond are more specialized applications
available. MDESIGN author is also available as an authoring system, which transforms easily your specific calculation, formulas and
know-how into an easily usable, standardized application.

The MDESIGN user interface is designed for easy application handling during calculation and design of mechanical elements. It is tailo-
red to calculation, intelligent catalogs, database access and technical documentation. Thereby it is guide and gate to information and
calculation of the technical department. The main advantage is the over every calculation and information application, database and
catalog identical user interface. This ensures a fast and easy usability, even if the numerous modules are used in different frequency.
All knowledge objects, documents and standardized database accesses can be entered into a multi-level classification and managed
from there.

The plain screen layout is remarkable of all MDESIGN application for many years. It contributes significantly to the success of MDE-
SIGN, because the multiple MDESIGN solutions are used for many years on several thousand workstations.

c) Install update/service pack: Changes/updates will take place on the server or locally.

server. During the installation the program will call the “HOSTID-assistant” to order a valid license from the manufacturer.

9) If MDESIGN 2018 does already exist on the computer, the following options are available: Run and license MDESIGN
a) The desired installation and the installed build are identically. The main-application of MDESIGN is the MDESIGN explorer. To word with MDESIGN you have to start the MDESIGN explorer.

Proceed as follows:

1) Click in Windows on the “Start-Button” and afterwards “All Programs”.

2) Open the MDESIGN 2018 folder.
3) Click on the symbol MDESIGN 2018 as administrator (right mouse button).

The first run is usually using an included license. This license provides to start the program, to view the user-interface and the modu-
les, but not the use of the calculation-functions. To run MDESIGN with full access, you have to order a valid license.
· Repair MDESIGN 2018: All files and registry-entries will be installed again.
A valid license can be ordered by the help of the program “HOSTID-Assistant” in the MDESIGN explorer. Start the MDESIGN explorer

Authorizing-instructions Creation of the HostID-file(s)

FLEXlm installation
