Slay : killed it. Succeeded in something
amazing.
Extra: When someone is “extra”, it
means they are unnecessarily
dramatic, excessive, over the top,
or a “drama queen”.
“ Nice drip”!
Bet: “Bet” means “okay,” and is
often used to agree with
someone.
My linguistic language was full of dictionary terms and very little slang. It
is so accepted in society to use “LOL” (laughing out loud) and “JK” ( just
joking). Growing up it was frowned upon to use slang and it was referred
to as “ ghetto”. Language changes in real-time due to who a person may be
speaking to and what the circumstance may be. If a teen or adolescent is
talking with a possible employer they may tend to speak properly and
avoid slang or using acronyms on a job application.
