 Abstract

The College Management System abstract tells the overall function of the project.
It consists of the reason why the project was proposed and the solutions made to answer the
needs of the targeted users.
To enlighten you with this, here’s the College Management System Project Abstract.

Project Abstract: 

College management is when a group of people and resources work together to plan,
organize, strategize, and put in place structures to run an educational system.

The college management system oversees enrollment, admissions, students, faculty,

attendance, fees, scheduling, assignments, grades, and the institution as a whole.

The college management system is designed to automate all the processes included. It
generates automatic reports on all elements for data-driven decision-making.

The college information management system, in general, helps educational institutions by

automating regular administrative tasks. It’s called a “college administration system,” and it
has a lot of features, like apps, student achievement assessments, and more.
 INTRODUCTION

The College Management System is the ultimate solution to digitize and

streamline the day-to-day operations of colleges and universities.

From student enrolment system to admission management and online classes

management to finance management and human resource management, as well
as every other process of college operations.

It also digitizes routine work of the campus such as student attendance

management system, student record management system, student profile
management system, student record keeping system, student mark management
system, student fee management, and other small and big operations.

The approach of college ERP software has several benefits. It has one username
credentials for all the processes connected to that college. In addition, it
analyses the captured data in different modules within the software.

The college management system is a new version of the Management

Information System, or MIS – a tool used to collect college operations data and
analyze. Management uses this data to make informed decisions.

The software contains the functionalities of the student information system as

well as the management information system. It manages the complete student
lifecycle, parent, as well as faculty in the college. It also manages the academic,
administrative, and fee management and all other financial activities of a
college.

2.College Management System Use Case Diagram
This discusses the meaning of the College Management System project UML as well as its
use case diagram using include and extend. A use case diagram is a visual representation of
how a user might interact with a program. A use case diagram depicts the system’s
numerous use cases and different sorts of users. The circles or ellipses are used to depict the
use cases.
3.Activity Diagram of College Management System
College Management System Activity Diagram interprets the flow of activities that
runs while using the system. The activity diagram is designed to give the
proponents and their users a clue on how the system should interact with them.
 ATTRIBUTES

Admin:

As we have not discussed this module earlier but here, we will discuss its functionality that
how this entity is used in the working of the application, admin use this application to give
access to the person who wants to register themselves on the website and add the legitimate
users on the system.

Whenever you will send a request for registration you will get an approval email from the
admin so that you can continue and later on you will get the username and passwords of your
choice for security purposes. As we can see the diagonal is connected with the admin, these
diagonals show the relationship of admin with different entities.

Admin organizes employees and keeps the record of the fee so that he comes to know that
what kind of employees are working there and about the fee status of the students, Admin can
also connect with students and teachers.

Event

This entity will keep the records of the happening event in the college and also help in
notifying the students so that they can participate in the events which they like to join.

The attributes of the event are as follow:

E-id:

This attribute will uniquely identify the events so that we can add different events to the
portal. If we have a different event id then the event will not overlap.

E-name:

This attribute will give an idea to the participants that what is the event all about so that they
will prepare themselves according to that. Suppose if the event is a spelling word, then they
will prepare for that. So, this is an important attribute for the participants.

E-winner:

This attribute maintains the records of the game-winner so that at the last of the events we
can give the award to the winners.

Student

This entity is one of the important attributes which need to be handled by this system so
we will discuss the attributes of this entity in brief which are as follows:
S-id:

This attribute will help us in uniquely identified the identity of the student because in college
there are many students having the same name and last name so to distinguish among them,
we need something that is in. This is different for every student so we can use this to maintain
the atomicity in our records.

S-name:

This will tell the name of the students. And also, mentioned it on his card so that teacher can
use it to identify the students.

S-branch:

This will inform us about the branch of the student which will help in maintaining the proper
record of the student and give us additional knowledge about the student’s profile.

S-result:

This attribute will give you the information about the student result, which will reflect in the
result section of the portals. The student will also get their marks through the system after
conducting the exams.

S-year:

This attribute will tell us about the year of the student that whether he is a 1st-year student or
second year so on. This attribute will help us to decide the fee structure of the student and the
courses of the students.

S-contact:

This attribute will provide the information of the student so that we can contact them at any
time when we want to inform them of something urgently.

Subjects:

This entity will show the subjects of the students according to the semester wise.

Let us see the attributes of the subjects:

Sub-id:

This will clarify the subject to the students. This will also help in choosing the subjects.

Sub-name:

This will show the name of the subject, it will define the name of the subject so that user can
use it.
Fee:

This new entity is fee will help us to maintain the fee amount of the students.

F-id:

Generally, it is known as receipt id which has given by fee department so that user can check
his status.

F-amount:

This attribute will give us the information about the amount of fee we need to take from any
student, and help in upholding the proper records.

Employee:

This attribute will uphold the information about employees of the college so that we can track
their records and take actions related to that. Employees have an aggregation relationship
with teacher and worker as an employee can be a teacher or a worker.

Their attributes are as follow:

E-id:

This attribute will help to find the unique identity of the employees.

E-name:

This attribute will tell us about the name of the employee so that we can contact to the
employee by their name.

E-DOJ:

This attribute will keep the record of joining of the employee.

Teacher:

This is an important entity let’s see its important attributes.

T-subject:

This will describe the teacher’s subject that which subject she will teach.

T-department:

This will provide us information about the department of the teacher like CSE, ECE,
Mechanical etc.
 CONCLUSION

This paper presents a method for increasing information requested by students with the use of
automated College Management System.In this ,instead of direct Contacting with direct
Contacting with the faculty the student can directly checks the Results from the System if the
student is registered in CMS.

CMS helps educational institute to do regular activities accurately, fastly and reliably.

By using CMS student and faculty can find out overall attendance percentages, fee details
and result analysis.

CMIS increases quality in work for educational institutes.

 The software facilitates the administrators to know the present status of a student of
the college.
  The software gives the information such as student personal data, student fees details,
results  etc.
  Generating the print reports of student personal, fee as well as result details….
  Hence we conclude that the present system (CMS for Colleges) would definitely help
the user by saving time and effort by reducing the processing time and volume of
errors.
  The efficiency of the work done would be improved and work satisfaction on the part
of the employees after computerization would definitely on high.
  The customer satisfaction would be definitely higher when compared to the old
manual system
