APPLICATION

TASK 1: ASSESSMENT SCENARIOS:

Discuss the concept measurement, assessment and evaluation in the following

situations.
1. Loida and Lulu are Grade 6 students that belong to the same class. They are
taking Mathematics under Ms, Uy. Loida obtained a mark of 85 while Lulu
realized that Loida performed better than her. Loida had achieved proficiency
while Lulu was at the approaching proficiency level.

➢ In the aforementioned scenario, one student received a mark of 85,

which decided testing their understanding by taking mathematics. The
results were examined, and it is apparent that Loida achieved the
competency level, although Lulu is only nearing the proficiency level.

2. Chit, a student-teacher majoring in English, conducted a teaching

demonstration of the rules capitalization. She obtained an overall rating 70%.
The critic teacher wrote that Chit was nervous in using her instructional aid. She
was not able to control the class. In view of her descriptions, the critic teacher
concluded that Chit was a second-class teacher and would assist her in
correcting and improving her performance.

➢ The notion of measurement in the given situation, Chit, a student-

teacher, only received an overall rating of 70% after doing a teaching
demonstration of the rules capitalization. Chit's performance was
examined by the critique teacher, who came to the opinion that she
could improve her performance by correcting and assisting her.
TASK 2:
Based on the lesson on the basic concepts and principles in assessment in learning,
select one core learning principle in assessing learning and explain in relation to your
experience with a previous or current teacher in one of your courses/subjects.

Principle Illustration of Practice

In our Assessment in Learning 1 (EDAL)

1. Assessment is learner- course, our instructor clearly explains the
centered syllabus before going to the discussion
proper, in which she elaborates on the
major goals she wants us to attain by the
end of the semester. Furthermore, during
lecture, our lecturer would regularly ask
us to share our understanding or ideas
with the class regarding what she had
addressed. The purposeful exchange of
ideas literally drives me to internalize the
lessons, stay focused, and have the
courage to step outside my own comfort
zone.
