REPORT OF DISCUSSION

2.1 Bullying

Bullying is a physical or verbal act that aims to hurt the victim. Bullying can harm

someone and can disturb the victim's psyche. Bullying is a form of oppression that is carried

out intentionally by a person/group who feels stronger. Bullying ranges from one-on-one,

individual bullying through to group bullying, called mobbing, in which the bully may have

one or more "lieutenants" who are willing to assist the primary bully in their bullying

activities. Bullying in school and the workplace is also referred to as "peer abuse".

Robert W. Fuller has analyzed bullying in the context of rankism. The Swedish-

Norwegian researcher Dan Olweus says bullying occurs when a person is "exposed,

repeatedly and over time, to negative actions on the part of one or more other persons", and

that negative actions occur "when a person intentionally inflicts injury or discomfort upon

another person, through physical contact, through words or in other ways". Individual

bullying is usually characterized by a person behaving in a certain way to gain power over

another person.

2.2 The Cause of Bullying

There are still many people who think they are superior to others. The victim is also

usually someone who is not good at adapting or something else. Lack of firmness in sanctions

can also be the reason for many cases. Bullies may bully people who are doing better than

them at something, be it grades or athletic accomplishments or promotions at work. The

2
bullies look to undermine the other person’s skills with acts of aggression only to level the

playing field. Bullies often lack psychological well-being, so there’s a lot of comparison

being done in their heads, and that leads to frustration and envy.

2.3 The Place Bullying Occur

The perpetrators of bullying are usually in the school community. Bullying is

typically understood as a phenomenon that occurs at school. Consequently, interventions

have primarily focused on the school system. Although school is a setting where children and

youth most frequently come together, bullying occurs wherever groups of children

congregate.

2.4 The Reasons Why People Bullies

Because some people feel they are the strongest, or they can vent their anger or

revenge on someone when they get bad treatment either from their family or their

environment. Those who bully are far more likely than average to have experienced a

stressful or traumatic situation in the past.

2.5 The Effect of Bullying

For victims of bullying, the impact is physical such as bruises, cuts, etc. for the

psychological impact, the victim can experience depression, stress, anxiety, etc. Trauma, fear,

even a chain of bullying can occur that continues to extend where people who have been

bullied will take revenge through other people and so on.

Conclusion and Recommendation

3.1 Conclusion and reccomendation

Bullying is a physical or verbal act that aims to hurt the victim. Bullying can harm

In conclusion, it is clear that students should be allowed to understand about bullying

education. By understanding bullying, students can understand about the effects of bullying.

Bullying affects most of the children at least once in the lifetime. Bullying can make a child’s

or teenager’s life a very bad experience. Bullying can lead to depression, drug use, suicide

and even peer pressure. Bullying can also traumatize and hurt a child or teenager all

throughout all their life. Bullying can never be forgotten by victim because it is a horrible

experience to go thru. This topic is important because it can help students to make an opinion

in a solution for bullying. If you would like to understand more about bullying you can read

some bullying experiences.

8
The suggestion that the presenters want to convey is that the material that we have

described may still be far from perfect, but we hope that the material that we have described

is useful for readers. Bullying can lead the victim to depression. Without a support from

someone that can help them, the victim will be alone and feel afraid of speaking out. The

major support for victims of bullying can be parents, teachers, friends, and older siblings.

Most of the times the adults help more than other children that see the victims are being

bullied. A parent, teacher or school administrator can find out why the victim is being bullied

and who is the victim being bullied by. If a parent finds out their child or teen is being a

victim of bullying, a parent must speak out and try to find out what is going on in the school.

There are several steps a parent of a bullying victim can take to help their child or teen.
