voltage, (c) frequency of ac.

Q02. When 100 volt dc is applied across a coil, a current of 1 amp flows
through it; when 100 V ac of 50 Hz is applied to the same coil, only 0.5 amp
flows. Calculate the resistance and inductance of the coil.

Q03. A 10µF capacitor is in series with a 50 resistance and the combination is
connected to a 220V, 50 Hz line. Calculate (i) the capacitive reactance, (ii) the
impedance of the circuit and (iii) the current in the circuit.

Q04. A 0.21 H inductor and a 12 ohm resistance are connected in series to a 220
V. 50 Hz ac source. Calculate the current in the circuit and the phase angle
between the current and the source voltage .

Q05. A coil has an inductance of 0.7 H and is joined in series with a resistance
of 220  . When an alternating e.m.f of 220 V at 50 cps is applied to it, then the
wattless component of the current in the circuit is ?

Q06. In a series LCR circuit, R =  200 , the voltage and the frequency of the
main supply is 220 V and 50 Hz. respectively. On taking out the capacitance
from the circuit, the current lags behind the voltage by 30 .On taking out the
inductor from the circuit, the current leads the voltage by 30 . The power
dissipated in the LCR circuit is ?
Q07. The magnetic flux through a coil perpendicular to its plane is varying
according to the relation φ= 5t3 + 4t2 + 2t - 5 weber. Calculate the induced
current through the coil at t = 2 second. The resistance of the coil is 5 .

east-west plane. A uniform magnetic field of 0.10T is set up across the plane in
the north-east direction. The magnetic field is decreased to zero in 0.70s at a
steady rate. The magnitude of current in this time-interval is.

The circuit shown in the figure – consisting of three identical lamps and two
coils – is connected to a direct current source. The ohmic resistance of the coils
is negligible.

After some time, switch S is opened. What are the relative brightnesses of the
three lamps immediately afterwards?
