WILDCAT BAND UNIFORMS

Welcome to the Wildcat Band, from Carolyn Boardman, Susan Spears, & Bridget
Kaminski-Tabourne, & Samantha Womack. We are the Uniform moms and can
help with any questions that you have. Our email address is:
[email protected]

We hope that this information sheet on uniforms will answer most of your
questions. Sharing this information with your son or daughter will help make their
transition & understanding of what is expected of them in HS band, easier.

The year is split into 2 parts. The 1st part is marching season. The 2nd is concert
season. For now we will give you information on Marching Season but you can
look up Concert Season information now on the band website or in Charms in the
handouts and files section.

Marching will start July/August and go through until November.

Concert preparations start after marching and will go through until the end of the
school year.

Marching:

We have marching uniforms at the school and will fit each student during August
band camp. Those uniforms do NOT ever go home. They will remain in the
uniform room at all times & are the property of the school district. The uniform we
supply consists of: bib pants, jacket, gauntlets (goes around wrist to complete jacket
look), shako (hat) & plume (not always used). An assigned poncho will be handed
out to students to keep in their band garment bags during marching season and must
be returned at the end of the season. Any school owned uniform items that are not
returned will be charged to student account.

MARCHING UNIFORMS
STUDENT MUST OWN
Long black socks. No patterns or any color. Just plain black.

Marching shoes – shoe fittings will take place during August band camp &
purchases will be made at Band Registration. If you wish to double check the shoe
size yourself, you will have the opportunity to do so at the same time. Shoes will
arrive approximately 1 week after we have placed orders. Cost $45

Official band garment bag – this is used to carry their marching jacket to each
game/event. You can have student initials embroidered on garment bag but must
use a plain font in the Cy Woods gold color. Opposite side to the Cy Woods logo.
For specifics, ask us directly. If you do wish to personalize, you must make sure it
is back in time for the first game. Please make use of the name label pocket so it is
easily identifiable. Garment bags will be purchased at Band Registration. Cost $35

White gloves – depending on the instrument your son/daughter plays/or mimics

during marching season, will depend on whether they require full finger gloves or ½
finger gloves. Gloves will be sized during August band camp. We will also have
sizing gloves at Band Registration. Students that will have a mimic instrument,
must know which instrument they will mimic in order to purchase correct gloves.
They will learn that during August band camp. Cost $5 each (Suggest you
purchase 2 pairs)

Black spandex that are worn under shorts/bib pants. Helps prevent chaffing. Buy
at store of your choice.

needed.

The uniform room will keep a small supply of gloves, grey/red practice shirts, show

Please keep a trash bag in their garment bag pocket. This is helpful when it
