Attending people for the survey (including company name and who they represent). Also take their contact details for future reference

When did the consignee receive the container at their premises? (Date & Time)

If container is present, take a photo of the container doors and CSC plate

Take external and internal photos of container (including stowage inside container)

Record supply and return temperatures of reefer machinery (with pics if possible)

Record ventilation setting of reefer container

Take pictures of the cargo cartons from all sides (including labels on cartons)

If the consignment is stored in the consignee's warehouse, take photos of the stowage inside the warehouse

Record pulp temperatures of the fruit from various cartons (with photos)

Assess the approximate percentage of damage to the fruit in conjunction with other joint surveyors / consignee (eg: 15% soft, 12% discolour, 6% blemishes)

Collect copies of Bill of lading, invoice and temperature charts placed inside the container (the temperature chart details will mostly be stated on the BL)

Please inform the consignee that they need to provide us with the final sales report for the cargo (this is extremely important as we are appointed on behalf of the shipper's insurance)

Please note that photographs are the most important part of the inspection, and there is no limit to the number of photos you may take (the more, the better)

DO NOT sign any joint survey statement or any other statement of any kind. In case the consignee or joint surveyors insist on a joint survey statement to be signed, please contact Capt. Mozar
