Mathematics Lab Activities

This document outlines mathematics lab activities for Class XII students at Boston Public School. It lists 12 required activities that students must complete in their math lab manual. The activities cover topics like verifying properties of relations, demonstrating functions, analyzing limits and continuity of functions, understanding absolute maximum and minimum values, constructing boxes of maximum volume, verifying geometric properties using vectors, measuring distances between skew lines, demonstrating plane equations, and explaining conditional probability through examples. It also describes a required project where students can analyze points in 3D space or model the cooling of boiled water using a differential equation.

And a, b L} is symmetric but neither reflexive nor transitive.
Activity-2 To verify that the relation R in the set L of all lines in a plane, defined by
R = {(a, b) : a b and a, b L} is an equivalence relation.
Activity-3 To demonstrate a function which is not one-one but is onto.
Activity-4 To demonstrate a function which is not one-one but not onto.

Activity-5 To find analytically the limit of a function f(x) at x = c and also to check the continuity of
the function at the point.

Activity-9 To verify geometrically that ⃗ ⃗+ ⃗⃗ = ⃗ ⃗+ ⃗ ⃗⃗.
Activity-10 To measure the shortest distance between two skew lines and verify analytically.

Activity-11 To demonstrate the equation of a plane in normal form.

Activity-12 To explain the computation of conditional probability of given event A, when
Event B has already occurred, through an example of throwing a pair of dice.
Project- Do any one of the following projects & make it in a milky file.
a) To find the co-ordinates of the different points identified in your class-room using the
