Description
A two-component, cold applied, pourable sealant based on polyurethane polymers and coaltar. After mixing cures to form a tough resilient sealant for horizontal joints. Complies with U.S. Federal Specification SS-S-00200 D and EA.A. Specification P.D. - 605-2.1 F. Sikaflex-T68 (W) is used in horizontal joints in areas of light traffic, such as: - Flooring and connection joints for over ground fuel storage depots and loading bays for fuel, oil and motor fuel oils. - Garage floors and car washing bays - Underground garages - Car parks (where elastic or plastic insulation exists) - Connection joints of bituminous coverings to concrete coverings and concrete objects - Runways, parking bays and garages at airports Sikaflex-T68 (W) is an easy to use and economical sealant with the following beneficial properties: - Easy to apply - Easily pours and self-levels - Permanently elastic - Excellent adhesion to common surfaces - Performs well over a broad temperature range - Good temporary resistance to a wide variety of solutions - Resists attack from microorganisms

Application
Joint configuration - Minimum joint depth: 10 mm - Maximum joint width: 35 mm - Width/depth ratio for expansion joints: 1 : 1 to 1.5 : 1 - Width/depth ratio for connection joints: 1 : 1 to 2.0 : 1 N.B. In joints carrying traffic Sikaflex-T68 (W) should be left 2 - 3mm below the road surface. All surfaces must be clean, dry and free from all loosely adhering particles. Correct joint depths can be established by inserting polyethylene foam tightly into the joint. Where joints have been formed with fibre filler board, this must be raked back to the required depth and a bondbreaker tape inserted. Protect surfaces with masking tape. Use Sika-Primer-T68 for all cementbound building materials, exposed brickwork, asbestos cement, natural and artificial stonework, polyester and hard PVC. Drying time: min. 1 hrs. / max. 5 hrs. Use Sika-Primer-35 combined with Sika-Primer-T68 for all metal, glass, clinker and stoneware. Sika-Primer-35 to dry min. 2 hrs. before application of Sika-Primer-T68. Use Sika-Primer PU for bituminous covering joints. Two coatings necessary with an interval drying time of min. 12 hrs. and 24 hrs. final drying. No Priming necessary for Epoxy and Polyurethane. These substrates to be ground, roughened and activated with Colma-Cleaner. (Consult always directions given on/in packings) Using a low speed drill (500 - 800 RPM) thoroughly mix the contents of Comp. A before adding Comp. B. After adding, mix together for not less than 3 minutes until a smooth even consistency is achieved. Using a plastic watering can, pour the mixed sealant into the prepared joint. Remove masking tape within 30 minutes. Clean all tools and equipment immediately after use with Sika Colma-Cleaner. Protect against exposure to oil for 1 week and water for 10 hrs. after pouring. Do not use for expansion joints in bituminous coverings. Maximum slope - 3%. Not suitable in contact with drinking water. Please consult the Technical Department for advise on chemical resistance.
