ENGLISH 8 FIRST QUARTER: WRITING A BIBLIOGRAPHY LESSON 3 SY 2021-2022

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MELCS: Q1/W3: Use conventions in citing sources (EN88SS-IIIg1-6.4)
Objective: Write a correct bibliography.
A. Introduction: Writing a Bibliography

When we copy one's copy work, we need to cite our sources. Citing means acknowledging a
person's work. by naming the person or people who did the work. Copying quotes, pictures, videos,
phrases, and sentences without writing the original author is plagiarism (stealing one's work). It is
punishable by law, so we should cite our sources. One way of citing the sources is through bibliography.
Bibliography is a list of the sources that you use in making report. It is put at the end of the report.
We also have the documentation which is the basic requirement of research writing to ensure that
you give proper credit to sources of information. In addition, sources can be taken from books, e-books,
interviews.
American Psychological Association (APA) is one of the styles used by teacher in business and
social sciences.
"Retrieved from" statement refers to the source of the electronic version of the book. In this case,
the e-version is provided by a company called ebrary. We use homepage URL for the company to site the
sources. In addition, reference ending in URL do not have an ending period.
To give you a bird’s eye view of what this module is all about, check the example below:
