NARRATIVE REPORT ON SULONG DUNONG ONLINE COMPETITION


SCHOOL LEVEL

Reading is one of the most fundamental skills children need to learn to be successful.
Not only do good reading skills benefit learner academically, but they are also a skill required
for lifelong success. Reading develops vocabulary, increases attention span, and promotes
stronger analytical thinking. In line with this, San Juan Sitio Balayan Elementary School
conducted an online competition which entitled “ Sulong Dunong Online Competition” on
November 11, 2021, which supports the Division memorandum No. 494, s. 2021 released by
the Department of Education.
The Division Memorandum No. 494, s. 2021 is giving emphasis to build and nurture
learners’ reading habit and interest with the theme, “OUTCOMES. OUTREACH.
OUTSTANDING: Libraries Beyond Boundaries”. The said competition was implemented
by the school with the support of the community and stakeholders.
It's a program that aims to help students improve their reading habits and enthusiasm,
as well as become more effective and efficient readers.
