Unit 7; Lesson 1; Unit introduction; Screen 1

Teacher welcome
[Teacher Ana facing the camera]
Teacher Ana: Hello again – it’s me, teacher Ana! Welcome to Unit 7! Unit 7 is called “Now is
good.” Now is good! I’m teaching right now, which is one of my favorite things!
In Lesson 1, you talk about activities around the house. You also learn how to form present
continuous statements.
In Lesson 2, you ask and answer questions about travel. To do that, you learn some
transportation words. Transportation is the different ways we can travel from one place to
another. You also learn to form questions in the present continuous.
In Lesson 3, you learn how to answer the phone and how to share news on the phone – or in
video calls. And you learn how to react to news – good or bad.
Lesson 4 is all about blogs. Do you read or write blogs? You learn how to write a blog about
things that are happening now.
Finally, you review everything from the unit.

Grammar story: “He's coming this way!”

[An animated video with human characters]

Narrator: [video title] Present continuous statements – “He's coming this way!”
[Exterior of an office building. Cut to a split-screen. It shows two office workers talking on the
phone.]
Woman: [It is the middle of a conversation.] OK, so I'm finishing the report from last week's
meeting,... and you're preparing for today's meeting. Right?
Man: Yes. I'm checking the numbers now. [We hear a buzzer.] Hey, wait a second... There's a
man at reception. He's delivering some flowers. Is it your birthday?
Woman: [laughs] No, not my birthday ...
Man: He's coming this way. [Man and woman both stand up. Zoom out to show they're actually
sitting at desks next to each other. We see a man with flowers walking past them.] Well, he isn't
stopping here, the flowers aren't for me... Where is he going?
Woman: [watching the man with the flowers] He's stopping at Angela's door!
Man: Is she in her office?
Woman: I don't know. I have to see this. [She puts down her phone and walks toward Angela’s
office. The man follows.] Look! The door's opening.
Man: [Cuts to further down the hall. The man and a woman, Angela, are outside Angela’s office.
She's holds the flowers and smiles. The man puts a hand in his pocket.] He's taking something
out of his pocket... Oh, it's a little box. [Angela is shocked. She drops her flowers and puts a
hand to her mouth. The man gets onto one knee and holds up the box to her.]
Woman: And now he's going down on one knee. [Zoom in on the box. It has a diamond ring.] I
think he's asking her to marry him! [Angela still looks shocked.]
Man: She isn't answering...
Woman: [Finally, Angela smiles and nods.] Yes, she is. She's saying yes!
Man: [The man takes Angela’s hand. She is happy.] He's putting the ring on her finger! [After he
puts the ring on, he stands up and kisses Angela on the cheek.] They're so happy! Look at
them. [The man and Angela cry and hug each other.] They're laughing and crying at the same
time. This is so romantic!
Woman: [Cut back to male worker and female worker, standing near their desks. The man has
a tear in his eye. The woman laughs.] You're crying!
Man: I'm not crying. [The woman smiles and gives him a tissue.] I have something in my eye.
