Physics Practical XIIth

The document provides instructions for creating two files - a practical file and an activity file - for a physics lab course. The practical file is to be copied from a file called "SANMATI" and should contain circuit diagrams, calculations, observations, and the 10 listed experiments drawn with pencil on blank pages. The activity file can be purchased separately and should contain the 5 listed activities copied from "SANMATI" in the same manner. Readings will be provided later, so blanks should be left for now. Each experiment or activity must start on a new page.

Important Instructions

1) Two files have to be made, one is practical file and another is activity file. Activity file is same like

practical file but can be bought from the market.

2) List of practical file is given and list of activities is also given which have to be copied from your

practical file name SANMATI. It contains both the practicals and activities.

3) All the circuit diagrams , diagrams, calculation table, observation table had to be drawn/written

on BLANK SIDE in both the cases(Practical file and Activity file) with PENCIL only.

4) Dates of experiment not be mentioned in the index or inside the file

5) Readings will be provided during practice of practicals and activities. For time being leave them

blank.

6) Every experiment has to start from a new page that is when the practical ends then start the new

practical with new page

List of practicals for practical file (to be copied from sanmati practical file)

Experiment 1:- To determine resistance per cm of a given wire by plotting a graph of potential

difference versus current.

Experiment 2:- To find resistance of a given wire using a metre bridge and hence determine the

specific resistance of its material.

Experiment 3:- To determine the resistance of a moving coil galvanometer by half deflection method

and to find figure of merit.

Experiment 4:-a) To convert a galvanometer into an ammeter of a given range and to verify the

same.

b) To convert a galvanometer (of known resistance and figure of merit) into a

voltmeter of a given range and to verify the same.

Experiment 5:- To find the frequency of the AC mains with a sonometer.

Experiment 6:- To find the focal length of a convex lens by plotting a graph between u and v or

between 1/u and 1/v.

Experiment 7:- To find the focal length of a concave lens using a convex lens.

Experiment 8:- To determine the angle of minimum deviation for a given prism by plotting a graph

between the angle of incidence and the angle of deviation.

Experiment 9:- To determine the refractive index of a glass slab using a travelling microscope.

Experiment 10:- To draw the characteristics curve of a p-n junction in forward and reverse bias.
Activities to be copied from sanmati practical file in separate activity files to be bought by the
student from the market having blank page on one side and the other with lines.

Activity 1:- To measure the resistance and impedance of an inductor with and without iron core.

Activity 2:- To assemble a household circuit, comprising of three bulbs three (on-off) switches, a

fuse and a power source.

Activity 3:- To assemble the components of a given electrical circuit.

Activity 4:- To study effect of intensity of light by varying distance of the light on an L.D.R (light

dependent resistor).

Activity 5:- To observe refraction and lateral deviation of a beam of light incident obliquely on a

glass slab.

Activity 6:- To obtain a lens combination with the specified focal length by using two lenses from a

given set of lenses.
