6.0 CONSTRUCTION
6.1 House
6.1.1 Analyzer house must be tightly -closed room of incombustible or not easily inflammable
material. House will be installed in a plant where a dirty, dusty, atmosphere will prevail
and therefore should have adequate seals around all doors, windows and all other
penetrations for sample lines, utilities and electric service.
6.1.2 Equipment for calibration and maintenance shall be placed within the house with the
sufficient space to walk around to permit servicing and accessibility on all sides.
6.1.3 The floor height and sills shall be generally chosen so that the room is protected from
flooding from outside.
6.1.4 Floor drain must be centrally located within analyzer house, with outlet pipe suitably
placed for easy field hook-up. Outlet of drainpipe should not be located on same side of
house as cylinder rack.
6.4 Doors
6.4.1 The door shall be sized for safety and free passage of the equipment installed on inside
house.
6.4.2 Two outward opening doors shall be provided with overhead drip rails, safety glass
windows, door stops and closers, stainless steel hinges and weatherproof seal.

6.4.3 An integral door handle and lock are fitted to the outside of each door while on the
inside panic-type crash bars are fitted to aid quick exit in the event of emergency. But
the door is to be locked outside only by standardized key.
6.5 Canopy
Canopies extending 1 meter are fitted on both sides of house. The canopy is fabricated from
1.5mm thick galvanized steel sheet.
7.4 Lighting
Lighting intensity of approx. 800 Lux at working surface shall be considered to
be an appropriate lighting arrangement. Fluorescent light is used which meet
the hazardous area classification.
8.2 Tube fittings shall be of the double ferrule type(ZERO LEAK). Swagelock model must be
used.

8.4 All line penetrations shall have a block valve at the outside of each
penetration and shall be labeled on the wall with stainless steel tags on both
sides of the penetration.
8.6 All line above 60℃ are to be insulated for personal protection.
9.2 All interconnecting wiring between terminal boxes outside house and equipment
inside house shall be done by Vendor. Galvanic isolation shall be fitted at all of the field inputs
and outputs for lightning protection.
9.3 All wires shall be terminated with a compression type insulated ring tongue terminal.
9.4 Cable/wiring shall be identified at instrument and all intermediate terminations with slide on
plastic ferrules.

9.5 All wiring shall be run in rigid steel galvanized conduit and/or cable tray. All internal wiring shall
be laid in PVC close slotted ducting with cover. Cable trays and ducts shall have 20% spare
capacity. The cables and wires shall be grouped and separated as follows:
(1) Low level : DC (mA, V), data highway bus, contacts from/to DCS
(2) High level : AC Power, Contacts (AC potential)
(3) Intrinsically safe circuit
9.6 Terminal box/Junction box shall be of galvanized steel, mounted on outside of analyzer
house. At least 10% spare terminal of required terminal points should be supplied in each
boxes. A separate terminal box/junction box shall be supplied for AC power, analog DC signal
and discrete DC signal such as Para.9.5. The proper explosion classification shall be
identified with permanent tag plate of stainless steel.
9.7 All electronic components shall be solid-state type and tropicalized. The
discrete signals shall be of potential free dry contacts and de-energized to open contacts.
9.8 All cable connection to instrument/junction boxes shall be sealed by packing type cable
glands.
9.9 Grounding
The grounding system shall be provided for personal protection (enclosure), electronic
instruments (cable shield) and intrinsically safe circuits individually.
9.10 The installation of the electrical items of the room (e.g. .V.A.C system, lighting, socket, power
distribution box, lighting etc.) shall be of explosionproof design.
Vendor shall supply main power circuit breaker with fuse and individual power on-off switches and
breaker with fuse for all instruments.
