1.0 SCOPE
This specification defines the minimum requirements for construction, performance and features of
the analyzer house.

2.0 PURPOSE
2.1 The analyzer house shall be supplied strictly in accordance with the following documents:
(1) Project Specification sheet (if referenced)
(2) This Specification
2.2 In the event of conflict between these documents the order of precedence shall be as
indicated in Section 2.1.
2.3 The special options section of each specification sheets describes the additional features or
deviations from standard for each specific device.

3.0 CODES AND STANDARDS

4.0 DESIGN CRITERIA

4.4 Electric Protection in Hazardous Area and Ingress Protection (IP)

The Vendor shall refer to the specification sheets.
4.6 Analyzer Cabinet
The analyzer cabinets shall be installed in the completely fitted Analyzer house. The Vendor
shall supply the house.

5.0 ANALYZER HOUSE


5.1 General
Analyzer house shall be supplied as a completely assembled unit suitable for installation on a
concrete basement.
All analyzers, sample systems and related equipment shall be mounted and interconnected,
where practical, along with all necessary utilities and accessories.
5.2 Basic Requirement
Analyzer house shall consist of the following major equipments:
(1) Analyzer Equipment : Refer to analyzer specification
(2) Sample conditioning system: installed in cabinet and mounted on outside wall
(3) V.A.C (Ventilation and Air Conditioning) System
(4) Fresh air intake system (two ventilation fans system)
(5) Main circuit breaker & Power cut-off switch: outside
(6) Power distribution system: inside & outside
(7) Fast loop system: outside
(8) Process interface: tube bulkhead board for purchaser's sample connection
(9) Utility interface: flange header for steam, water, drain, vent gas, etc.
(10) Lighting system: inside & outside
(11) Calibration/utility gas: bottle, bottle rack, fitting and regulators.
(12) Combustible gas detector and toxic gas detector ( If analysis toxic)
(13) Flash lamp/Beacon: 3 sets (on above each doors and one inside)
(14) Air horn: outside house
(15) Wash basin ; wash eye

6.0 CONSTRUCTION
6.1 House
6.1.1 Analyzer house must be tightly -closed room of incombustible or not easily inflammable
material. House will be installed in a plant where a dirty, dusty, atmosphere will prevail
and therefore should have adequate seals around all doors, windows and all other
penetrations for sample lines, utilities and electric service.
6.1.2 Equipment for calibration and maintenance shall be placed within the house with the
sufficient space to walk around to permit servicing and accessibility on all sides.
6.1.3 The floor height and sills shall be generally chosen so that the room is protected from
flooding from outside.
6.1.4 Floor drain must be centrally located within analyzer house, with outlet pipe suitably
placed for easy field hook-up. Outlet of drainpipe should not be located on same side of
house as cylinder rack.

6.2 Base frame


6.2.1 Analyzer house base shall be fabricated with an I-beam skid-base and flat integral floor.
Perimeter shall be suitable for mounting to a concrete pad.
6.2.2 The floor is anti-slip plate seal welded to the base frame to provide a sealed floor to
maintain ventilation pressure.
6.2.3 The whole base is sufficiently rigid to permit the anayzer house to be rolled on a leveled
surface or lifted by crane from the four removable lifting lugs attached.

6.3 Walls and Roof


6.3.1 Analyzer house internal and external walls are made of 2.3 mm thick
galvanized steel sheet and C rails along side wall. Sheet will be riveted
skeleton steel frame.
6.3.2 75mm fiberglass or polyurethane or equivalent insulation shall be
provided in walls and roof. Floor shall have polyurethane or foil-backed duct board
attached and supported.

6.4 Doors
6.4.1 The door shall be sized for safety and free passage of the equipment installed on inside
house.
6.4.2 Two outward opening doors shall be provided with overhead drip rails, safety glass
windows, door stops and closers, stainless steel hinges and weatherproof seal.

6.4.3 An integral door handle and lock are fitted to the outside of each door while on the
inside panic-type crash bars are fitted to aid quick exit in the event of emergency. But
the door is to be locked outside only by standardized key.
6.5 Canopy
Canopies extending 1 meter are fitted on both sides of house. The canopy is fabricated from
1.5mm thick galvanized steel sheet.

7.0 VAC (Ventilation and Air Conditioning System)


7.1 General
Analyzer house shall be designed to ensure the 15 to 25℃ inside temperature range
requirements are met.
7.2 Ventilation and Air Conditioning system
7.2.1 The ventilation there shall be twin fan and switch to automatically start in case
one pressurizing fan failure.
7.2.2 Analyzer house shall have fresh air ventilation. An intake of fresh air
must be provided from safe area.
7.2.3 Intake pressurizing fans with back draft dampers shall be mounted high on wall but if
there are supplied independent ventilation system it will be separately installed from the
house.
7.2.4 The amount of fresh air must be designed to ensure at least five times the
change of air per hour. Barometric exhaust louvers (min. 2) with screen and wallmount
flange shall be installed on 150mm below the inside ceiling and 150mm above floor
surface.
7.2.5 Analyzer house shall be kept at a slight excess pressure of approx.
25 pa g(2.549 mmH2O). Indicating differential pressure switch shall be installed for
the monitoring of inside pressure and the detection of inside low pressure.
7.2.6 Temperature indicator shall be mounted on wall for monitoring the
inside temperature.
7.2.7 Three combustible gas detectors shall be mounted in analyzer house as
below:

(1) Close to upper louver of inside house


(2) Close to lower louver of inside house
(3) At top of air intake duct

7.2.8 Followings shall be activated in case that hydrocarbon concentration of atmosphere


reaches low explosive limit which are given signal from purchaser, the
pressurizer fan is failure or the inside pressure of house is low.
(1) All non-explosion-proof equipment to be switched off
(2) Red flashing light or beacon located roof above each entrance door on the outside
of the house and one red flashing light on inside of the house
(3) One air horn in roof
7.2.9 Following failure signals should be sent to SIS OR DCS
(1) Low pressure of inside house
(2) Pressurizing fan failure
(3) Air Conditioning system failure
( 4) Gas detectors alarm

7.3 Gas bottles


7.3.1 Bottles with carrier, calibration and all required gases must not be kept inside of the
analyzer house. They must be kept close by analyzer house and be protected from
precipitations and solar radiation. Gas bottle holding rack to accommodate necessary
bottles shall have plus 3 spare spaces.
7.3.2 Two stage regulators with pressure gauges and the proper CGA fittings with armored
flexible tube shall be supplied for each bottles excluding the spares. Manifolds shall
also be supplied to allow changing carrier gas cylinders without shutting down the
analyzer system. This system shall also required isolating valve and inlet/outlet
pressure gauge.

7.4 Lighting
Lighting intensity of approx. 800 Lux at working surface shall be considered to
be an appropriate lighting arrangement. Fluorescent light is used which meet
the hazardous area classification.

8.0 TUBING AND PIPING


8.1 All piping and tubing runs shall be either horizontal or vertical, with 90˚
bends and hall arrange that visual tracing is possible.

8.2 Tube fittings shall be of the double ferrule type(ZERO LEAK). Swagelock model must be
used.

8.3 The material of tube and fittings shall be as follows:


(1) Sample line : Type 316 stainless steel, seamless and 1.2mm thick.
(2) Inst. Air : Type 316 stainless steel, seamless and 1.2mm thick.
(3) Steam tracer : Bare copper, seamless ,1.0mm thick tube and brass fittings.

8.4 All line penetrations shall have a block valve at the outside of each
penetration and shall be labeled on the wall with stainless steel tags on both
sides of the penetration.

8.5 Check valve shall be installed on sample return line to process.

8.6 All line above 60℃ are to be insulated for personal protection.

8.7 Utility header


8.7.1 Analyzer system vendor shall provide a header for each utility as below:
(1) Instrument air
(2) Steam supply
(3) Steam condensate return
(4) vent: Stainless steel
(5) Flare: Stainless steel
(6) Condensate/Drain
(7) By Pass Header
8.7.2 Each header shall be supplied pressure gauge with isolating valve and
the external connection shall be a minimum of 1/2" NPTF/flanged.
8.7.3 Vent header shall be of Type 316 stainless steel and be sloped 5% to low
drain point for condensation.
8.7.4 Substances in gas and vapor phase shall be generally recycled to the
system when analyzing is completed. When these substances are
discharged to the atmosphere, the relevant line shall be designed for
discharge at 3m above the ridge.Atmospheric vent header shall have
flame arrester and muffler or swan neck.
8.7.5 Liquid substances must be recycled to the system when analyzing is
completed. When there is no direct possibility to ensure recycle, the
liquid substances shall be collected in drainage.
8.7.6 Vent header must be return to process line do not vent to Atmospheric

9.0 ELECTRIC SYSTEM


All electrical equipment and components inside/outside the analyser house shall be designed and
installed to meet hazardous area classification Cl.1, Div.2, Gr. C&D, T2 (except defined other code
on specification sheet). Appropriate authorities such as CENELEC, BASEEFA, FM, TUV, TIIS, CSA,
KEMA, etc shall certify the electrical enclosures.

9.1 Cable and wire specification


(1) UPS Power Main Isolator : Min. 50 mm2,stranded copper, 600 volt, XLPE
insulation, PVC jacket with steel armor
(2) IPS Power Main Isolator : Min. 35mm2,stranded copper, 600 volt, XLPE
insulation, PVC jacket with steel armor
(3) Signal : 1.00 mm2 twisted, stranded copper,600 volt,
PVCinsulation, aluminum Mylar shield and
PVC jacket with copper drain wire.
(4) Contact & solenoid valve : 1.5mm2,stranded copper, 600 volt, PVC
insulation and PVC jacket with steel armor
(5) Power : Min. 2.5mm2,stranded copper, 600 volt, XLPE
insulation, PVC jacket with steel armor
(6) Grounding wire : Min. 2.5 mm2,solid copper, 600 volt, PVC
jacket
(7) Color shall be of the following identification :
- Power circuits : AC : Hot - Black , Neutral – Blue
- DC : Positive -RED, Negative - White
- Signal circuits : Positive - White , Negative – Black
- Intrinsically safety circuits : Blue
- Grounding : Green/Yellow

9.2 All interconnecting wiring between terminal boxes outside house and equipment
inside house shall be done by Vendor. Galvanic isolation shall be fitted at all of the field inputs
and outputs for lightning protection.

9.3 All wires shall be terminated with a compression type insulated ring tongue terminal.

9.4 Cable/wiring shall be identified at instrument and all intermediate terminations with slide on
plastic ferrules.

9.5 All wiring shall be run in rigid steel galvanized conduit and/or cable tray. All internal wiring shall
be laid in PVC close slotted ducting with cover. Cable trays and ducts shall have 20% spare
capacity. The cables and wires shall be grouped and separated as follows:
(1) Low level : DC (mA, V), data highway bus, contacts from/to DCS
(2) High level : AC Power, Contacts (AC potential)
(3) Intrinsically safe circuit

9.6 Terminal box/Junction box shall be of galvanized steel, mounted on outside of analyzer
house. At least 10% spare terminal of required terminal points should be supplied in each
boxes. A separate terminal box/junction box shall be supplied for AC power, analog DC signal
and discrete DC signal such as Para.9.5. The proper explosion classification shall be
identified with permanent tag plate of stainless steel.

9.7 All electronic components shall be solid-state type and tropicalized. The
discrete signals shall be of potential free dry contacts and de-energized to open contacts.

9.8 All cable connection to instrument/junction boxes shall be sealed by packing type cable
glands.

9.9 Grounding
The grounding system shall be provided for personal protection (enclosure), electronic
instruments (cable shield) and intrinsically safe circuits individually.

9.10 The installation of the electrical items of the room (e.g. .V.A.C system, lighting, socket, power
distribution box, lighting etc.) shall be of explosionproof design.

9.11 Power supply system


Contractor will provide two feeders for each analyzer house.
(1) 230V AC, ±10%, 50Hz, 1 phase (UPS) for analyzer and interlock system,
(2) 400 - 230V AC, ±10%, 50Hz, 3 phase 4 wire (non UPS) for VAC, lighting and warning
equipments.

Vendor shall supply main power circuit breaker with fuse and individual power on-off switches and
breaker with fuse for all instruments.

9.12 Push button and lamp color shall be as follows:


(1) Reset, ack. Lamp test button : Black
(2) Start button and running lamp : Green
(3) Stop button and lamp : Red
(4) Emergency button : Red

9.13 Radio Frequency Interference


Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) effect from a portable 5-watt output transceiver located 1
meter from the instrument shall not exceed 0.5% of full scale.

10.0 INSPECTION AND TEST


The inspection and test of the system shall be done according to the procedures approved by
Purchaser. Purchaser has the right to witness and approve the inspection and test of the
commodity in the Vendor’s factory.

11.0 VENDOR'S RECOMMENDATION


11.1 Spare parts and consumables
The Vendor shall recommend the list of spare parts and consumables.

11.2 Calibration Equipment and Tools


The Vendor shall recommend the list of calibration equipment and special tools.

11.3 Vendor's Service at Job Site


The Vendor shall dispatch his specialist to the job site for supervision of installation, calibration
and commissioning of the analyzer system.

11.4 Training Services


The Vendor shall propose training service, which contains number of trainer, training program,
equipment required tools, etc.

12.0 PACKING and SHIPPING


12.1 Tagging
12.1.1 House vendor shall permanently affix stainless steel nameplate to both sides of each
wall penetration, clearly identifying source and service of that line.The house itself shall
have a permanently affixed stainless steel nameplates indicating project name and
analyzer house number on upper position of each door.
12.1.2 Each component mounted on analyzer house shall be identified with a nameplate,
adhesive type shall not be used.
12.1.3 A permanently attached (with drive pins or equal) stainless steel tag(s) stamped with
the following information shall be provided on each analyzer and related equipment:
(1) Tag Number
(2) Manufacturer's Name or Trademark
(3) Model Number
(4) Serial Number
(5) Output
(6) Power Supply / Electrical Classification
12.1.4 Each individual carton or box shall be marked with the instrument tag number on the
top and side of the carton.
12.1.5 If individual cartons are grouped in a larger box for ease of shipment, then the larger
box must be marked on the top with the tag numbers of all the instruments in the box.

12.2 Packing
12.2.1 All ports and openings shall be sealed. Threaded connections shall be protected with
metallic or molded plastic caps or plugs.

12.2.2 It is the responsibility of the Instrument vendor to ensure that the equipment is
adequately protected and packed to meet the shipping and delivery requirements.
