Since its foundation, more than 20 years ago, 3ti’s interests
and goals have equally ranged between the buildings and the
infrastructures with the aim to transform the surrounding
environment fully explored to any details. 3TI operates in all
fields of Engineering and Architecture from feasibility studies
to construction and testing, being engaged in each specialist
field, none excluded.

Our main goal is to put the technical excellence at customer

service. This is also the fundamental value behind the
business strategy: we aim to create strong and lasting
relationships with our customers, believing that solid and
stable relationships with them represent the most significant
contribution to our success.
Secondly, we aim at enhancing the sense of belonging if
the people who work with us, considering it the best way
to achieve our goals. People are our most precious asset.
Our professionals are creative, qualified, sensitive to social
and environmental issues and deeply attentive to the needs
of our customers. We are an innovative, dynamic and
passionate company that enhances the diversification of
its working group by welcoming with the same enthusiasm,
both young talents and professional experts.

The infrastructures design has represented the best synthesis

of the main engineering topics related to the buildings and
the infrastructures being entangled in them.
This ability to transversely encompass different disciplines
ensures the opportunity to operate also in the social sector
(healthcare, education, culture, sport infrastructures) and to
cooperate both with important engineering companies and
excellent architectural ateliers.

GLOBAL PLAYER
We have been operating around the world for more than 20 years. In such time, we have completed more than
2,500 engineering projects in over 30 countries: airports, rail stations, bridges, roads, ports, hospitals and buildings.
We use our passion and expertise to create connections between people and communities.

BASED ON PEOPLE
We strongly advocate employee ownership as a tool for organic growth and independence. Today we are the only
Italian engineering member of the Employee Ownership Association, the body that brings together businesses that
are employee owned or transitioning to employee ownership.

SUSTAINABILITY
We design sustainable buildings and infrastructures to serve the people using them in their daily lives. For us,
architecture and engineering are, first and foremost, social tools that foster communities’ economic growth and
prosperity while safeguarding their environment, history and territory.

QUALITY
Our design activities are certified for compliance with the top ISO quality and environmental management
standards. We constantly monitor the transparency and integrity of our operators through enforcement of
legislation against corruption and criminal activities.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

People’s safety and well-being are crucial values for us. This is why we strive every day to build safe, accessible
workplaces – in our offices, at customer premises and on construction sites – that make full use of the talent and
creativity of our workers and promote safety and personal growth.

PROPRIETARY DEDICATED SOFTWARE

To ensure the most effective management of complex projects involving design teams working in
various offices, we use a customized document management system: MIndS* (Manage, Interact
and Sort), a collaborative platform that allows to share and manage content and knowledge
to facilitate the work of the team. Each work will be submitted to the following editorial and
approval process: drafting; verification; approval; authorization.

BIM CERTIFIED
We have always believed in Building Information Modeling (BIM) as key tool for rational,
sustainable and efficient design. We have applied it in our civil engineering projects for many
years. Since 2018 our BIM competence has obtained ICMQ certification.

• Phase 2 - works on section 2 - middle of the runway;
• Phase 3 - execution of works on section 3 - with threshold 26R displaced.

Phase 1 - In this stage the works will be carried out on approximately 950 m from
the runway threshold 08L, which consists of works related to road structures,
marking lighting and drainage system in that area.
The runway markings remaining operational does not change compared to the
existing situation.
Phase 2- In this stage the works will be carried out on the middle section of the
runway, which will lead to the total closure of the runway. In this stage the works
related to the road structures, markings, lighting and drainage system will be carried

the Runway, AGL
and Drainage

3TI PROGETTI has been contracted to develop the Construction Management

Review services for the runway, the AGL and the drainage system of Tirana
International Airport in Albania which is located about 20 km from the city
centre. The project deals with the rehabilitation of the existing runway and taxi
system at the airport, which is carried out in different phases of construction.
Due to operational and cost-sharing reasons, but above all to limit the impact on
air traffic, it is not possible to carry out the works on runway at the same time.
Airports are complex systems, where the procedures and conditions associated
with construction activities often affect runway operations, putting their safety
in risky conditions. It was therefore necessary to study how construction
activities and flight operations influence each other in order to develop an
effective plan to complete the project.
Careful planning, scheduling and coordination of construction activities have
been carried out in order to minimise disruption to normal aircraft operations
and to avoid situations that would compromise the operation and the
operational safety of the airport.
The Project is therefore structured into the following construction Phases
(Sections):
Sub-Project 1:
• Section 2.1: Repaving Twy-W + Fillets / Shoulders Twy-D
Sub-Project 2:
• Section 1.3: Construction of junction Twy-B to Rwy-17/35
• Section 2.2A: Repaving Runway at Junction with Twy-C (minimum 200m)
• Section 2.2B: Repaving Runway from THR-35 to Junction with Twy-C (350m)

€ 193,000,000.00

• Feasibility Study

The Guglielmo Marconi Airport Masterplan provides, among the main

interventions for the development of the airport, the construction of a new
passenger terminal connected to the existing terminal.

3TI scope of work insists on the Feasibility Study aiming at examining in depth
the existing masterplan with the purpose of defining all the issues concerning
the development of the new terminal and all the other airport functions, such
as:
• Both the existing and the new terminal and the connection between the
two (airside and landside);
• Flying areas, service areas and holding area;
• Other airport and support functions (cargo, general aviation, fire fighters
areas etc.);
• landside access infrastructures.

The study includes also the model of economic and

social development according to the different evaluated scenarios.

• the expansion of the northern side of apron “D” destined for servicing and
maintenance of Civil Protection aircraft;
• the new apron “G”, where aerospace industry activities are to be carried
out;
• the new apron for the future localisation of the Industrial Aerospace
Factory;
• the construction of Taxiway “T”, for the direct connection of the new aprons
“D” and “G” to the threshold of runway 17.

CLUJ-NAPOCA

ROMANIA

2013

R.A. ROMATSA

€ 2,500,000.00

• Preliminary Design

The main idea behind this project is to create a new landmark within the area
of Cluj Napoca airport, a reference building which not only provides all the
technical functions required for an airport but has also its own identity beyond
the architectural standards of control towers, while at the same time interacting
with and being properly inserted in the surrounding context.

Interaction with the surrounding areas is also guaranteed by the careful

planning of the outside areas in the construction area: the green areas which
mark the limits of the roadways for vehicles and the parking lots will reach right
up to the building itself, characterising the facades and part of the “podium”
covering on the ground floor.

3TI PROGETTI has been engaged to design the International Terminal Building € 70,840,000.00
at Ibom International Airport in Uyo – Nigeria as a design consultant of Alcon
Nigeria Ltd, the contractor that is awarded the D&B Tender.
• Concept Design
The project consists in the following three sections: • Preliminary Design
• Detailed Design
• the new international passenger terminal (1.5 mln pax/year, 750pax/hour • Procurement
peak); Assistance services
• the air side apron, with fixed fittings and equipment;
• the land side access road system and car park system.
The design gives prominence to the interior and exterior public areas, all below
continuous roof. The gentle curve of the airport’s roof is inspired by an aircraft-
wing that defines the cross section of the structure.

The terminal is furthermore equipped with halls, lobbies, waiting rooms, staff
offices, check-in areas and areas for police and security services. By preferring
the language of essential forms, clearly defined spaces and natural materials
such glass, steel and stone, all placed under a pastel green roof, the designer
has created a bright, clear, simple yet comfortable environment designed to
ease passenger flows.
