Chapter 1

1.1 Introduction

The crumbs cheesy dog that the proponents created would be really enjoyed

because it has melted cheese and hotdog, it will be really enjoyable even though

the ingredients are very simple. The crumbs cheesy dog comes from the words

bread crumbs, cheese and hotdog. The product has six ingredients which are

cheese, hotdog, lumpia wrapper, breadcrumbs, egg, and vegetable oil but before

the full procedure of the product, the proponents want to introduce the full details

of the product so that readers would be aware of where ingredients come from

and where it started.

Cheese is a dairy product produced in wide ranges of flavors, textures, and forms

by coagulation of the milk protein casein. It comprises proteins and fat from milk,

usually the milk of cows, buffalo, goats, or sheep Fankhauser, David B. (2007).

Hot dog is uncommonly spelled hotdog it is a food consisting of a grilled or

steamed sausage served in the slit of a partially sliced bun. The term hot dog can

also refer to the sausage itself. The sausage used is a wiener (Vienna sausage)

or a frankfurter (Frankfurter Würstchen, also just called frank). The names of

these sausages also commonly refer to their assembled dish. Some consider a
hot dog to technically be a sandwich. These types of sausages were culturally

imported

from Germany and became popular in the United States Zwilling, Leonard (27

September 1988).

Lumpia wrapper are various types of spring rolls commonly found in the

Philippines and Indonesia. Lumpia are made of thin paper-like or crepe-like

pastry skin called "lumpia wrapper" enveloping savory or sweet fillings. It is often

served as an appetizer or snack, and might be served deep fried or fresh

(unfried). Lumpia are Filipino and Indonesian adaptations of the Fujianese and

Teochew popiah which was created during the 17th century in the former

Spanish colonial era. In the Philippines, lumpia is one of the most common

dishes served in gatherings and celebrations. In Indonesia lumpia has become a

favorite snack, and is known as a street hawker food in the country. In the

Netherlands and Belgium, it is spelled loempia, the old Indonesian spelling,

which has also become the generic name for "spring roll" in Dutch. A variant is

the Vietnamese lumpia, wrapped in a thinner pastry, though still close in size to a

spring roll, in which the wrapping closes the ends off completely, which is typical

for lumpia Sri Owen (2014).

Bread crumbs or breadcrumbs (regional variants including breading and crispies)

consist of crumbled bread of various dryness, sometimes with seasonings added,

used for breading or crumbing foods, topping casseroles, stuffing poultry,

thickening stews, adding inexpensive bulk to soups, meatloaves and similar

foods,

and making a crisp and crunchy covering for fried foods, especially breaded

cutlets like tonkatsu and schnitzel.

The Japanese variety of bread crumbs is called Parko Finell (November 2021),

and next is eggs from birds, particularly chickens, are the most frequently

ingested by humans and have been eaten by them for thousands of years.

Although less frequently than chicken eggs, the eggs of other birds, such as

ostriches and various ratites, are consumed routinely. Additionally, eggs from

fish, amphibians, and reptiles are edible. Roe or caviar are the names for the fish

eggs that are eaten as food Kenneth F. Kiple (2007).

Vegetable oils, or vegetable fats, are oils extracted from seeds or from other

parts of fruits. Like animal fat, vegetable fats are mixtures of triglycerides.

Soybean oil, grape seed oil, and cocoa butter are examples of seed oils, or fats

from seeds. Olive oil, palm oil, and rice bran oil are examples of fats from other

parts of fruits. In common usage, vegetable oil may refer exclusively to vegetable
fats which are liquid at room temperature. Vegetable oils are usually edible Alfred

Thomas (2002).

The proponents made something that was inspired by a bread roll, but what

makes it unique is that it is not incorporated into a bread; instead, the proponents

wrapped

it in lumpia wrapper and added bread crumbs. Here, the product seems like it

has two faces because it has a resemblance to a bread roll and a cheese stick

but it is truly one that the proponents put together so it can be called an

innovation; it's unique and classic that potential customers will enjoy it.

1.2 Objective of study

The objectives of this study is to compare the acceptance of different dry

cheese dog food products by consumers, determine consumer clusters for

acceptance, and identify the characteristics of cheese dog food that drive

consumer acceptance. Owners evaluated dry cheese dog food samples

available in the US market. The results indicated that appearance of the sample,

especially the color, influenced food owner’s overall liking more than the aroma

of the product.

1.3 SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS

This study intends to identify the target market, which includes the Calamba

Bayside Integrated School's pupils, teachers, and staff (CBIS). Through the

school year 2022–2023 during the month of November to December, the study is

carried out. It focuses on the Crumbs cheesy dog product's feasible and demand.

Since they are beyond the proponents scope, the study will not include locations

outside of the institution. People outside the school and places not covered by

the

school will not be included in this study since their effects on the findings will not

be significant.

1.4 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

The goal of this study is to conduct experiments to determine whether the

suggested product is feasible. It pertains to the particular topic of how to improve

the food industry, hence the study's objectives:

 This study aims to determine the feasibilty of a new food product and

reveal its market potential. It also examines how local foods affect

consumers' purchasing decisions and discusses how well the ingredients

work together from the perspective of the consumer.

 To the consumers given importance to those who love crumbs cheesy

dog, will be aware of the existence and current standing of the product.
 They will be given a wider perspective and choices that will satisfy their

needs and wants.

1.5 LOCALE OF THE STUDY

History of CBIS Calamba Bayside Integrated School, formerly Lingga Rural

High School, was established in 1989 after the traditional commemoration of A

DOCE DE PEBRERO—a massacre of more than 500 men during the Japanese

Occupation. Some civic-minded concerned people and barrio officials convened

a barrio high school that would educate the children of the marginal folks in the

barangay, most of whom depends in fishing as means of survival.

1.6 RESPONDENT OF THE STUDY

The proponents selected the responders from among the Calamba Bayside

Integrated School students because they considered they would be able to

supply the study with the necessary data. They would understand the product's

potential, market need, and suggested changes. They were also a students in

the ABM program for grade 11, (II) students in the HUMMS program for grade

11, (III) students in the TVL program for grade 11, (IV) students in the ABM

program for grade 12, (V) students in the HUMMS program for grade 12, (VI)

students in the TVL program for grade 12, and (VII) teachers in the senior high

school department.

1.7 POPULATION AND SAMPLING

The population that the researcher is interested in is students at Calamba

Bayside Integrated School's Senior High School Department, which includes

students in Grades 11 and 12 (where ABM, HUMSS, and TVL strand) and 25

teachers. The proponents used stratified sampling to conduct and collect their

sample, using Solvin's formula: n=N /(1+Ne2), where (N) is the sample size (9) is

the population's number, and € is the margin of error. The graph below displays

the sample size and population utilized by the proponents, with an error margin

of 0.10 applied.

1.8 SOURCES AND DATA GATHERING PROCEDURE

The study presented the feasibility of the product "Crumbs cheesy dog" in the

target market. It provides: introduction to the study, objectives, scope and

limitation, significance, locale, respondents, population and sampling, and

definition of terms

With the unified notions, ideas, and opinions of the proponents, the study's data

are finalized. Every one of them helped the study grow and get better.

1.9 Definition of Terms

feasible comes from faire, the French verb meaning “to do.” Doable and

feasible therefore originally meant literally the same thing: “capable of being

done.” Indeed, doable was formed with -able, the Latin-derived French ending

meaning “capable of” combined, in this instance, with do, a word with roots in Old
English and one of the most basic and useful of our verbs. Though their

respective etymological meanings may overlap, doable and feasible exist more in

parallel with each other than as true synonyms. As with most such pairs of

words, the Latin-derived term is used when describing more abstract notions.

The words most commonly modified by feasible include:
