Feature introduction
 Feature overview

As of today, feature RF Rx-sniffing (RAN3060/LTE1434/SR001155) can be only operated in a manual way using BTS Site Manager
(BTSSM). The operator has to manually login to a BTS-instance via BTSSM, manually trigger the RF-scan and finally manually import
and interpret the RF-scan results (via build-in application ‘rfView’). These facts make the feature not usable on a network wide level,
involving more than one BTS.

RAN3359 feature intends to introduce the possibility to run existing RF Rx-sniffing feature (RAN3060) on many BTSes in parallel in an
automated manner, enabling the possibility to use the RF Rx-sniffing feature in a network wide manner with least user interaction.

Feature allows to detect narrowband interference in received UL-spectrum, and each BTS sends RF-scans in regular time intervals,
according to a pre-defined schedule, to a dedicated RF-scan collector. The RF-scans are automatically analyzed by a RF-scan analyzer
application, in order to derive a statement if there is an interference condition present or not.

 Main benefit of the feature

This feature introduces the possibility to run RF Rx-sniffing on many BTSes in parallel in an automated manner, and automatically
analyze & present the interference status.

1.4 M Nokia Product As Nokia Product Manager I want the usage of RF-scan analyzer to be protected via license key in order to secure Nokia SW

1.5 M Eric/Nokia Care As Nokia/Product Manager/Eric I want the RF-scan analyzer to be upgradeable locally or from remote, in order to add or
Engineer change SW-algorithm, without impacting BTS-operation (handling and management of RF-scan analyzer independent from BTS
SW-version)

How feature works
1. RF-scan can be triggered on more than one BTS in parallel from NetAct, or on individual BTS by Element Manager (e.g. Site Manager).
Time-based (time-schedule) RF-scanning trigger conditions can be taken effect on multiple BTS-instances, and time schedule configuration for
collecting & sending RF-scan is handled as part of BTS-commissioning data.
2. The respective BTS(es) will perform the RF-scan, according to the time schedule and automatically sends the RF-scan raw data file to a pre-
configured destination node (RF-scan collector instance), based on pre-configured destination node information (IP-address).
The RF-scan raw data file is uploaded from BTS to the RF-scan collector instance via standard HTTP mechanisms
3. The interpretation of RF-scan raw data is automated, using a SW-algorithm (RF-scan analyzer) which is able to import/read a specific RF-scan raw
data file, providing a feedback/result about the presence of an interference condition.
4. The feedback with specific RFI (RF Interference) alarm of the RF-scan is forwarded to a pre-configured destination node ( e. g. NetAct or further to
CareEngine), using existing alarm management interfaces to display/visualize properly.
Besides the alarm/feedback itself also information on BTS (BTS-ID) and cell/sector (Cell-ID, Sector-ID) where the RF-scan has been performed, is
provided.
